... and if the Fumoto fails???
Always a possibility I guess, but extremely unlikely given their history.

Out of a few hundred posts from users on prior generation trucks that love the fumoto have never seen a post where it has failed.

Good info here for anyone looking to order parts. My nearest dealer had it listed for $159. A dealer about 40 minutes away had it listed for $124, before the $20 off. Since shipping is free, I saved myself the drive. I received all the parts the next day. Total cost after tax, $152. I did not order the oil drain cover.

If you have it shipped, you can expect some scratches and chips in the paint. If this bothers you, I highly recommend you go pick it up at the dealer so you can look it over before buying.
This is wild. I'm just outside of Austin, which is expensive for Texas. Changed to my dealer growing up that's 300 miles away and it was $50 cheaper but still with free shipping. Nice tip :).

2022 F-150 XL (STX)
Just wanted to add one more data point, I installed HL3Z-7222-E on my 2022 XL, no problem, no need to move (even temporarily) any lines. The four necessary holes in the frame for the 13mm bolts were there for the U-nuts. I bought from Fairway Ford Parts using my FordPass points (which is great, otherwise those credits would have simply sat unused), total shipped to central Florida was $180, including nuts and bolts. Bore the FedEx scratches others have noticed, but some rattle-can paint took care of that.

The *only* minor thing (which doesn't bother me) is that I can't use the front 8mm bolts. The fiber diaper has a tab that's not flush, and it fits into a very specific area on the frame. The "under cover" doesn't have that same tab, so the place in the frame that accepts the tab prevents the front part of the under cover from lying flat, so it's pinched up against the frame. Not a big deal at all, the four main ones hold very firmly.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread, especially with photos, made this worthwhile project very easy.

Does this skid plate work with lifted trucks?

Would definitely help it's long term durability here in the Northeast. I shot mine with primer and paint prior to installing it. Rust will always win, but we can at least delay it.
I took my new pan straight to the blaster then had it powder coated quite heavily. ….. total added cost 135 cashola

I'm pretty sure all 2022's and up have the square holes for the Ford tab nuts/bolts. I don't know about other 2021's. I'm sure there is nothing behind it that would be in the way. I'm surprised no one else has decided to do this. on the 2021's. Just waiting for my skid plate to come in.
IIRC Gen14 frames of the short wheelbase type come in two forms. Again, IIRC, one is for the lighter trucks, and one for the heavier ones. Think 4WD or Max Tow, versus 2WD standard tonnage. My rig is both 4WD and Max tow and it’s prepunched with all the holes needed for that raptor plate and since the Raptor is a 4WD, this makes sense …. to me anyway. I cant speak to the long wheelbase frames but I suspect they come in but one form. As far as the short wheelbase PB this may also be a heavier frame due to the added weight of the 1.5kw to 7.2kw battery pack and the 35kw motor.

For those of you with a 5.0, did you grind the plate to get easier access to the drain plug, and if you did, where did you need to grind?
I was thinking of simply putting in a Fumoto valve, but don't know what one to use? What valve has anyone with a 5.0 use?

It may not even accept a standard oil plug like these if it has the newer plastic plug. Probably best to view that landscape first and then figure out which thread yours has as that will limit your choices straight away.

I ordered mine from my local ford dealer yesterday. I have a 2023 Lariat 157" wheel base, SuperCrew Cab, Max tow package, 6 1/2 feet box, built in November 2023. I live in the province of Quebec, in Canada. I will update once the installation will be done.

Sure hope it fits 23 I'd like to upgrade but don't need full blown skids as I'm pavement and dirt road driving no hard offroading
