Extremely loud electrical POP followed by loud static

I experienced this issue today. My truck is a 2022 F150 Limited with a total of 464 miles. My audio had been set to apple car play for 2 or 3 consecutive days. While driving, I turned the radio to AM and heard the very loud pop. I thought the sun roof had exploded. This was followed by the extremely loud static that the OP and others have described. I could not make the noise stop by turning the truck off.

I drove directly to Sterling McCAll Ford in Houston, TX. The service guy came to my truck window and heard the same static. It was still screaming when I left the service department of the dealership. This is not good.

I imagine being on a road trip and this occurring and stuck 100 miles from home with this ear piercing noise.

There have been issues with dealerships being unable to diagnose the issue because they can't reproduce it. Hopefully because you were able to take it to a dealer while the issue was happening, they might have a shot at diagnosing the issue, and stopping this from happening to anyone else. Keep us posted.

I understand dealerships need to recreate so that they can diagnose, but Ford needs to send something out to them, soon. Some kind of direction of where to start of what they might think it is.

I feel like I need to familiarize myself with the location of fuse 28 on the passenger side fuse box to be prepared if this happens to me. Does anyone have a photo to show the fuse to be ready? @Ford Motor Company you need to respond to these people and their reports in my opinion.

Same thing happened to me. Static won’t stop. I think my brakes failed also. While static was blaring I was maneuvering to return to my garage and the brakes fails temporarily.

Just happened to me today. The loudest static noise I’ve experienced in my life. I’m still having a little hearing problems right now.
I was not far from the dealer so I took the truck to the service and none of them knew what to do. After like 10-15 mins the noise went away. This thing gives me anxious.

Just joined and wanted to add myself to the list of those whom it has happened to. 22 Platinum PowerBoost. First time was a month ago, and now again this week. First time was loud pop, followed by the static as I just got into truck. Second time was with wife doing 60 and was scared to death, but no pop, just loud static. And it didn’t stop


for a while. I am hard of hearing already, but this truly hurts my ears. I did make sure my fuses were all in tight as well. In the engine compartment the majority were lose, inside, majority were set properly. Use Bluetooth and Apple. If anyone else has any updates or information please follow up. My dealer was clueless on this issue. They wanted me to contact them again when it happens.

So far, from monitoring everything I've seen relating, there's not even a hint of anyone anywhere knowing anything about the cause or a solution.
Hopefully that changes soon.
