Do these temps. look like yours while towing? My 2021 ran on the hot side as well, but the 2024 shows me all the temps. which was a constant watch for me.
-65 MPG on cruise most of the 700 mile round trip.
-90-100 degrees at sea level.
-I'm guessing 6000lb. tri-toon and gear.
-93 octane.
-Tow Haul mode, locking out 8, 9 & 10 and sometimes only 8 & 9.

Barletta is the manufacturer of my boat, but your name is hahahah. The temp would stay that way after about a 75- 100 miles into the trip, but would come immediately down if I slowed to 55-60 mph or exited for fuel. On the first leg of the trip after more than half way, I locked out 8,9,&10 and it came down, but had no such luck on the return home.

When towing with my powerboost at similar ambient temps and similar weight my engine temp and transmission temp stay at 12 o’clock position. When navigating mountain passes that have a couple thousand feet elevation gain in a few mile stretch I’ll see temps start to nudge up but not quite as high as yours. Not sure if the powerboost is capable of additional cooling. Temps reduce quickly once we are over the summit.

Temps remained very stable low pulling a 4.5K travel trailer 2300 miles over mostly flats, but have towed up steep hills with no change. '21 3.5 EB, 3.55s. Tow/Haul, 93, 65 MPH, 9th and 10th locked out to stay off the turbos,

Most likely it makes no difference but noticed the coolant reservoir was just a tad below MIN before the trip. Topped it off to MAX.

When stopping, we let the truck run to cool. For example, while fueling up or for five minutes upon reaching destination.

Noticed the truck runs really hot to the point of practically being able to fry eggs on the hood. It stays hot for hours.

Those are normal operating temps, towing or not.

I don't have pics and no means to numerical values other than gauge position but I did reconfigure the gauges to show coolant and trans temps for a 5K mile towing trip, of a 7K camper across the Rockies and back. Up to ~12k in elevation?

Tow Haul Mode. On the first part of the trip, I messed with manually locking out various gears (to reduce turbo use) but once I saw how well the auto engine braking worked (via trans shifting) I set the cruise and let the truck do it's thing.

The closest thing you could call babying, was feeding it premium fuel in the mountains and cruise set no faster than 65 when towing.

I never saw either gauge leave the normal position, or noticeably vary from each other.

Not the same as being able to report numbers but that is what I saw.

I really like my '21 302A analog gauges, but that screen is hella cool and would be awesome to have when towing.

Indeed -- it's what the 21-3 screen should have been!

GM now has a dev system for people to customize their screen configurations. Just getting started but something ford should have done years ago. I think GM reads this forum for their ideas. Ford should give it a try.

I recently picked up a 24 with the 3.5 and towed for the first time this past weekend. I have a 7x14 enclosed v nose trailer which weighs about 4,500 lb with our dirt bikes in it.

My average speed was around 65 mph with the trailer attached and my temps were spot-on with what you posted. I was in tow mode with the measurements showing, I really like this screen for towing.... Tons of info.

I'm not going to lie when I was towing I was a little bit concerned to see the engine temp hit 216. However, after researching on here I think our temps are right where they're supposed to be. I will be curious how the truck does with the trailer on the interstate going 70 to 75. If I can maintain the same temps, I will be happy.

One thing I noticed is at highway speeds the engine temps hover around 216. However, when cruising at let's say 50 or slower the temps were just under 200. Here is a pic after about 5 miles going 50 mph. I honestly think these trucks could benefit from a larger radiator, but that's just my opinion after towing one time.

I agree with having better cooling capacity. I know an aftermarket intercooler would solve that issue, but I hate to start tinkering with things. The truck definitely feels good towing at 70 to 75, but 6 to 7 miles per gallon is a tough pill to swallow driving hundreds of miles. So I go against my nature and cruise control it at 65 when towing. My wife loves the lower speed when we are towing versus not towing. ha!

Yes that ip cluster is nice
Oil temp is a great tattle tell
Drives me crazy thst especially in tow haul and sport..I don't have oil Temps, egt
My explorer is horrible in gauges.
Only get a trans and coolant swing in tow or sport
And only eng swing temp in normal
No way to digits
