I would just like to take the time to post up that beyond all the issues many have experienced with the 14th gen F150, that in my opinion it is an amazing vehicle! To the Ford online support team I would like to give a shout out for combing thru the issues posted on here daily and reaching out to help. There is no perfect product but the pursuit to hone the F150 platform to where it is now is awesome. If you feel the same way I am sure it would be welcomed to let the support team know how much you appreciate there help.

It bothers me that not everything is working perfectly, but to be honest, besides my inaccurate gas gauge, I never used cruise control or different drive modes in my previous f150 ( still getting them fixed, I want the option to use them!!). My truck is gorgeous and makes me smile every time it lights up when I walk to it.

taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Hopefully they can get things working before I have to leave the state again on the first!

I am sorry, but I cannot bring myself to participate in your celebration.
First of all - no, there is no perfect product, but what I have experienced and what others here - many - experienced it's not even remotely close to an attempt to be perfect. A $65K (and more, in some cases< as well as $30K vehicle, the pride of America, should never ever have all these issues. As I described in another post, my family has been driven Hondas for the last 20 years (+ one brand new Hyundai Sonata which I didn't like driving, but was flawless nonetheless). All vehicles - six different Hondas, Accords and Civics, and the Sonata - were acquired brand new. We never ever experienced any issues with them as brand new vehicles. With one of them I had to visit the dealership to question the Auto HVAC system that to me seemed to be off, but that's about it.
With so many reported issues here, as well as the issues I've been having and still have, there is evidence of pure lack of attention to details and quality control process. Just one example: an issue that I share with other owners, based on comments here - the missing, or poorly attached Rain Sense sensor adapter. The sensor simply hangs in it's hole, wipers don't work, and if not for one curious owner who saw something weird in his windshield we would not have known what's going on. His bracket was hanging, I didn't have one at all.
Sorry, but this is not how you build and deliver a $65K vehicle or any other vehicle, no matter the cost.

In regards to Ford Online Support - who are you referring to, the official Ford user here? How exactly did they solve your problems, if you had any? Asking for your name and VIN in a message doesn't really solve the problems that should not have occurred in the first place, IMO.

I have to admit. I am worried about the truck I have on order after doing some reading here of all the issues these trucks are having. Second guessing my decision sometimes of not going with a '22 Tundra. I guess time will tell.

It is quite amazing for how fast they travel down the assembly line and go out the door to customers. My truck has had some teething issues with a door lock issue and Ford has followed up a few times making sure I am happy with the progress of the repair. The truck has performed very well for the range of conditions that I have experienced in the last few months of ownership.

Ford is not perfect in their fit and finish department and could use some improvement. However - this is the same case for all brands that mass produce cars. I had a Honda purchased brand new that needed an AC compressor 3 months into owning it. I had a Toyota that for some reason the wheel bearings lasted only a year or so. This is not an excuse for Ford, but mechanical parts have duds intermingled with the good ones. I have gotten a few duds over the years. I have not experienced anything yet where I have been stranded with a new car.

Anyone on the fence with an order, I say keep your order. Right now, no vehicle has a reliable timeframe to delivery and any other vehicle could have many of the same issues as the Ford.

You also don't hear about the hundreds of thousands of owners that are perfectly happy with their purchases, because most do not go onto a forum until they have a problem and are looking for solutions. Everybody's experience is different, and I don't think that ford would be the best selling truck for 40+ years if their trucks had a massive amount of issues. My personal experience has been absolutely great with zero issues, while my wife's Hyundai sonata has had more problems than any truck I've ever had. Every brand has their issues, and I think we can all be happy that the quality of vehicles has increased tremendously over the past 60+ years.

True, and I never claimed all manufacturers are perfect. No one is perfect. My issue is mostly with poor QC. Few trucks with missing/handing rain sensor bracket is a mishap; many trucks with this problem, especially those - like mine - who rolled off the line without a bracket at all is a QC neglect, for the lack of a better word.

Considering the sheer volume of issues with the 2021, and posts detailing issues with 2022 models already starting to build, I could not in good faith recommend the F 150. Unfortunately, this is not my first experience with what is in my opinion non-existent Ford QC. And as technology advances it is only getting worse.

Over the last 15 years I've owned 2007, 2010, 2016 and 2019 Ram 1500s, a 2009 F 150, a 2014 GMC 1500, and a 2018 Chevy Colorado, all purchased new. Yes, I trade about every 2 years on average, eager to try the latest and greatest. Literally the only truck to see a service bay prior to my current 2021 F 150 was the 2009 F150. The 2009 suffered catastrophic steering failure at a remote location in the Colorado high country after 6 months of ownership. 2009 was a redesign year. After 2 weeks in the shop I immediately traded it for the 2010 Ram and never looked back, until now. I swore off Ford due to the 2009 literally leaving my family stranded in the wilderness.

I took a significant risk to give Ford another chance, again during a redesign year, this time intrigued by the PowerBoost. ProPower doesn't work when it's raining, various advanced safety systems fail at random leaving me to suspect all systems, Sync4 works when it wants to, and Ford does not appear to prioritize parts availability for current customers faced with potential safety issues that Ford has been aware of for months. Never again.

Yeah my focus was the Ford Online Support, and I was able to get a case number and talk to human about the issue. The sheer fact that they have a team doing online support is a benefit other manufactures do not do. It seems that your bent on it being a bad experience so I doubt it would do you much good, so sell it while the market is up and get your honda back my friend.

7 months now and no problems. I am one of the(big number)of people that have not had any problems, except two. The lie Ford told on MPG and the BAD MPG I get. NO, NOT bad driving.

Very well said David331. My truck has been running smooth. Im sorry not everyone has had the same experience as me. This forum is such an amazing tool for all of us to share the good and the opportunities for improvement. With Ford permitting their employees to be apart of this forum speaks volumes about them as company/employee and their committment to Built Ford Tough. Lastly, thank you to everyone on this forum for being so helpful. Together, we can continue the legacy of Best Selling Truck!

My experiences:
1990 Ford Probe (new) - 298k original miles before being hit head on with a drunk driver that was driving a truck. The impact casue the truck to swing around and drive over the hood of my car. Replaced the battery and radiator. Other than that, oil, brakes, tires transmission filter and fluid changes.

1993 Ford Ranger (new) - ~50k original miles when with it went to the recylcer after being hit broadside by a drunk driver. The impact was such a force it rolled the truck and it slid on it's side about 50 feet. Fortunately, I walked away. No mechanical issues - just tire, brakes and oil.

1995 Ford Ranger 4.0L (new) - 317k original miles when the odometer quit working. Quit driving it after having done a 180 spin out on a state road with a trailer attached and being hit twice in the rear and side at 50 plus mhp. Drove it and the trailer home after the accident and then to the collission center. Didn't have it repaired due to availability of parts due to age of truck. Repairs: radiator, alternator, a couple of batteries and a section of exhaust. Other than that, oil, tires, and brakes. Again, oil, brakes, tires transmission filter and fluid changes.

2002 Ford Ranger 4.0L (used at 98k) - 218,598 when I sold it 2/20/22. The engine was starting to leak oil and the timing chain tensioner was starting to give out. I did have the transmision rebuilt. The truck ran fabulous until the last year of ownership. I firmly believe the two previous owners beat the hell out the truck, which lead to me having the transmission rebuilt. Spotty oil, brakes, tires transmission filter and fluid changes on my part problably didnt help much.

As a retired maintenance electrician in a large manufacturing plant full of old and new technology. I just wanted to throw this out there. It has been running around in the back of my mind for a while. This not directed at anyone or any thing. Just my thoughts. I am not knocking anyone who is having problems with there trucks. I share their pain and frustration. With the help of many of the members on this and other forms, there is a lot of great information and support.

I just googled how many 2021 F 150's were sold in Canada and the US... Somewhere around 850,000 units. That being said, and I know it might rub the guys that are having problems, but with the chip shortage and the percentage of units with systems not working as they should is IMO not that high. Someone who has a truck that is not giving the owner any problems or if it does, are very minor and easily repaired, are not going to say anything on here or any other form. Also, the software and firmware issues in these trucks is something that we have not experienced before. No different when new technology comes out and IT teams have to figure out what must be changed to correct a problem and then update all the devices. I worked with high tec equipment for over 30 years and there was always updates required to correct problems. Even systems that were over 20 years old needed updates. The mechanics, were I worked were called wrench pullers, are having to put down their wrenches and air tools and pickup a computer and try and figure out what it all means or requires. And from experience, just because I am told it is "THIS' part that has failed, over time, I have discovered that that is wrong and I should be changing a different part. The key thing here is it takes time for the mechanics to gain that knowledge and understanding what is the way a system should and does work.

Example: Trailer light check on my 2021 F150 XLT. Turns the tail lights on the truck but not the trailer. Thought it was an issue. Had the truck into the dealer a couple of times until it was explained that I had to turn on the park lights to check the running lights on the trailer. Turn signal, brake lights and back up lights checked worked great.
