So I just relaunched FDRS and it doesn’t show an APIM update anymore. Did the PMI do the update?!
Did a TCU or GWM pop up?

PMI and selecting no will do the update if it works the way it is supposed to.

No, those all stayed clear. No additional updates are there. Only the Audio one that doesn’t go away

So I’ve had the dreaded stuck Version 20262 on my new to me ‘21 F150 and finally got past it today and am currently in 22807. I was going through doing the GWM, TCU and APIM updates and everything was going smooth and fairly quick.

I got to a new APIM update but when I click RUN there’s a pop up message and it says “Data unavailable for this application. The data for this application is no longer valid.” I can’t get past this update to finish the other GWM, TCU and other updates.
Any ideas on that? I’ve restarted the computer and FDRS and pretty much started everything over and still got the same pop up message.

You could have hit the wall on this SSM:

SSM 53966 2021-2025 Various Vehicles - SYNC4 - General System
Performance And Stability - Programming No Longer Available

Some 2021-2025 Ford/ Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may not be able to perform an update to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM). This may be due to the software in the APIM. Ford Engineering has de-activated the ability to update these SYNC4 APIM modules as applicable, and the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will not present an update for the APIM module. Some existing directed repairs may be impacted, check Professional Technician System (PTS) before attempting any specific technical service bulletin (TSB)/special service message (SSM) and check field service action (FSA) landing pages before attempting any FSA repairs. For any vehicle repairs requiring a software update that includes an APIM update in the programming sequence, if the 5-digit product code for the APIM software is equal to or lower than 23187, do not attempt to update affected modules at this time. To determine the 5-digit product code for the APIM software on the vehicle, while the vehicle center display screen is powered up with ignition in run or accessory, go to Settings > General > About SYNC. Find the 5-digit code (example: “SYNC 4, Software Version: 23187_ PRODUCT”). If further support is required, follow normal internal dealer escalation process.

Hmm…so it seems like I may have gone as far as I can go with it at this point without having to get a dealer involved?

Dealer can’t help either if this SSM is what has you blocked. Maybe the Ford program engineers will figure something out and eventually release further updates for the affected APIMs. No one knows.

It's unfortunate that the issue Ford says that they are dealing with would be THAT far retroactive.
It's disappointing to think a 2021 owner can't get his APIM up to the point that finally provided fundamental improvements like full screen CarPlay or Android Auto.

My 21 has 24127 Ver. 1270, I think this is what the dealer updated it to for the original owner some time back. Having said that, I have not received anything new since owning the truck.

I did have another ‘21 a few years ago that did eventually get the full screen CarPlay update, I don’t know the exact version it had though. I do think it was probably a later model ‘21 vs the one I have now.
