ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I thought you were responding to the guy who said it wiped his favorites. In any case, it updated quite a bit of stuff when I ran it on my '21 Job 1.

The Presets are stored in 05-01 and down. So if you have the as build stored or saved form before you can get them back.

The as build online may not have refreshed to what your current presets are. It runs a config after the update. So it sets the as build to what is online.

If you guys want to do the ACM update it may be best to save the As build in forscan so you can rewrite the preset section after in case you lose them

I have not heard of them being lost yet but its always a possibility

The new ACM update is NOT just a strategy update. Here is the as-built before and after. Note the changes at Nodes F123, F124 and F188. It was a strategy, calibration and software update:

those are online only channels. You will need to make sure your phone is connected and that you have the connected services enabled. Those setting might have gotten reset during the upgrade.

I use IP based entertainment and have no presets.

@Jesse-Infotainment when the vehicle blacks out for an update as it does while keeping the module being updated alive, what device is commanded to do that? BCM, BCMC, GWM? I want to update my DSM because there's a touch of OCD. FDRS errors java lang something or other, forscan sleeps truck for update and then fails in part I believe that the BCMC is shutting off the DSM (wired appropriately). Thanks

Since the GWM specifics aren't yet public due to it being an attack vector, I can't dig around to see if it's a factor.

Forscan cant flash the DSM. It has a issue loading the Bootloader

Only thing I can think of is the Enhanced memory. You may need to verify you have the PRofile set to your key. Make sure when you start the truck is says hello your name for the profile . Otherwise it will load guest presets.

Now that you mention that, it does seem to happen a lot more often when I use remote start, I wonder if there is something hosed in the profile associated with that.
