ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Some modules need to reboot after install and FDRS instructs you to turn off the ignition CLOSE the driver's door and wait 10-15m. It says 10 but I've seen some things take longer. Turn off the truck, close the door, set a 15m timer and go do something and come back.

Can anyone of the experts @Jesse-Infotainment confirm if you have to reset modules in FDRS environment like as APIM in Forscan asks to restart module as you update it ?

FDRS will ask you to cycle the ignition on and off, and for the APIM update it tells you to turn the truck off. Open the door and wait 10 minutesl

Ok so I went into forscan and reset the gwm and then I disconnected battery for about an hour. And ….

10 minutes after the point it says it's finished, where it says to leave the USB in the slot while closing up the truck for 10m or so.

whats crazy is the whole time it did the update the status bar stayed at 0% i got the restart message left the door open and took the key to the other end of my house. i supposed ill need to purchase fdrs again for alot more updates

I do not understand the question.

What I was trying to ask is when you’re using Forscan and the note says be sure to go into the wrench app and restart the APIM I did not see that an FDRS but I guess it didn’t make you stop at sometimes. wait 10 minutes before starting the truck so I guess it’s on the way it’s doing it’s on restarting of modules.
It’s my first time using FDRS if it wasn’t for all the great info here I don’t know if I would have had the stones to do it

to reboot APIM, hold vol down and track forward on the steering wheel. Handy anytime the system goes stupid. Two furthest apart bottom buttons.

I am updating my truck with FDRS and have a BCM update to be loaded. At one time there was a concern with the BCM update on FDRS removing a needed fix. Anyone know if this is still the case or is this download now good? Thanks

I just updated my BCM a few weeks ago with no issue.

I remember a post by Jesse someplace saying that BCM got pulled, and we have to assume this is a new one. @Jesse-Infotainment

I had my cluster replaced and you were helping me configure it to hopefully release some new FDRS updates. I was wondering if you could look and see if I have anything new available.
