For the Alexa APIM update, how long after inserting the USB drive did it take before people got the "System Updating" message? I got the top ribbon bar of inserted and indexing, but it's been about 5-10 minutes and still nothing about applying the update. I figure this one will take longer just due to size, but this seems unusually long.

EDIT: Waited another 15ish minutes and still nothing. Shut the truck off and walked away for 10-15 minutes, came back and turned it on, then about 2 minutes later I got the System Updating message ?‍

Hello everyone, appreciate all the advice and support I've experienced on the forum. I've read the programing guides and have finally received the Mongoose/battery charger etc.. , It appears that I need to update the GWM first followed by the remaining updates for my truck (2021 Powerboost Limited.

Are there any that I shouldn't install ? I've been reading about some updates like the recent GWM update that might not be beneficial. Apologies if I missed a thread with the answer to my question.

The only ones to be cautious about are BCM updates. The rest generally are safe and improve how things operate.

Thank you, so avoid all the BCM updates until otherwise noted or are there safe vs unsafe ones ? my truck is pretty out of date so I'm sure they'll populate when I start the process tomorrow. Thanks again for the help !

General rule that seems to work out best is updating any GWM, APIM, and TCU in your list first. (and in that order if there are more than one of those present in your list).

Then I'd select the PCM if it's there and let those coordinated updates do their thing, and then CCM updates that may be coordinated as well (CCM, CMR, IPMA, IPC, etc.), and then PDM, DDM, and end up with the BCM last. I've read the comments about dangerous BCM updates, but I think that was months ago and is now resolved. @Jesse-Infotainment can confirm if this is the case.

Has anyone ever gotten this error and know how to fix it? This is for the 3.5.4 equivalent TCU update.

It can't create the USB drive to install and I want to avoid going via CAN.

There seems to be an issue with the manifest generation today. Let me see if its still down

Ok. The APIM update didn't have an issue earlier. I did try clearing out the FDRS program data folder and even uninstalling/reinstating FDRS.

I have been having issues today also. I am actually relieved its happening in FDRS also

The system is "working", but you may not be able to generate a USB install drive for TCU/APIM/GWM.

Sounds like I'd better wait then. I've got so many updates to catch up that I'd hate to waste any time with it not working. Thanks again for all the help. Would it matter if I updated all the other things like the door modules in the meantime ?
