good question but I live in the Sandhills of North Carolina. Relatively flat and no wind that day.

One big question: can a tune be used to expand the state of charge limits on the battery? Right now, we have a 1.5 kWh*0.3=0.45 kWh battery. If you expanded those limits to a minimum of 20% and a max of 80% (which is still pretty conservative for a lithium battery), you would DOUBLE your battery capacity (1.5*0.6=0.9 kWh). I realize that Ford would void your battery warranty in a heartbeat if they found that mod, but our batteries are 1) tiny and 2) a wear item. I would hesitate to do this now given the likely difficulty in replacing a dead battery, but I also assume that aftermarket batteries will become an option for us (imagine a 3 kWh bank at 20-80% SoC, or 1.8 kWh). As hybrids become the norm and aftermarket parts become more commonplace/replacement parts become available, I think that this will be a popular mod.

What are you using to determine the charge % and all the other observations?
Some people use Torque with Android phones. I use Car Scanner or FIXD with my iPhone.
