I wish I were not one of those who would post in this forum, but I have been having an inordinate number of problems with my 2021 Powerboost King Ranch. The truck has been in the shop for over 4 months since I bought it in June 2021 for different issues. Once a software issue took 6 weeks to...
Hummm.. I learned something today. Maybe that's why, after I use the hybrid charge down to about 40% and turn the truck off for the night, the charge of the AGM battery is lower than when the hybrid battery is at 50%, if the DC/DC Converter could not borrow from it.
Ford has not told the dealer...
The dealer says the alternator/starter test failed. One morning my truck's battery was 5.7 volts and I had driven it the previous day and nothing was connected. It's happened 3 times already. Every morning I checked it was 11.7 V with a 2 month old battery.
I wonder if Eco Idle has anything to do with battery charging while driving. Oftentimes I have more than 50% hybrid battery charge and I am going downhill without trying to accelerate, and the ICE is still on, recharging the battery fast. If Eco Idle is not on, would the ICE turn off sooner if...
Over 13,000 miles towing a 5200 lbs TT with my 2021 PB, I get between 10 and 12 MPG, heavily dependent on speed, wind, type of gas (premium gets me 1-2 MPG better than regular), terrain, and altitude (on the coast I get 12+ MPG). I also lock the transmission to 8th gear (sometimes 7th) so the...
I've had many issues with my 2021 PW and they were all addressed by Sill-TerHar Motors. Some issues (usually software related) took weeks to fix. I'm hoping that after 1.5 years most of the bugs in my truck (and there were too many) have been addressed. The truck is fantastic when everything is...
I have a 2021 PW King Ranch with over 20,000 miles.
I monitor the battery's charge and the transmission temperature. As the cold weather comes in, I cannot get the truck to go electric until the battery is at least 42-45% charged (same as in the summer), and the transmission temperature is...
Last year when I was boondocking in Kansas in the summer, I connected my PB to the trailer and turned on the A/C (13.5 kBTU) , which was on all night. The truck used 11 miles of gas (checking the difference in miles to empty) during the 8 hours I had the 7.2 kW Pro Power connected. I had 2...
I have taken my PB up the mountains and I drive down mostly on electric, unless I get on the highways. My last 77 trip from the mountains was 45% electric miles and I got 36.8 MPG. I could see towing a trialer up averaging 10-11 MPG and coming down to average less than 20 mpg.
I use an OBD2 connector with cell phone software from FIXD. I use the real time display to know when I can use the electric motor (between 42% and 70% charge). I heard that a Torque app also works. When the charge is below 42%, I can’t get the vehicle to go electric and I have to regen charge...
I have similar resutls using FIXD with its OBD2 adapter. For me the truck can be in electric mode when the battery is between 42% and 69.5%. I've seen the charge drop to 38% and go as high as 71%. I wish we could display the battery charge level on the main screen. I use it all the time to...
I monitor the charge of my PB battery and it fluctuates between 38% and 71%, although the engine will shut off only between 42% and just short of 70%. Still, I wish it could work between the 15% and 85% you suggest.
I use a FIXD ODB2 adapter to monitor the hybrid battery charge level. When the level is close to 70% the vehicle no longer uses regenerative braking and just the white bar shows up. As you use the battery and the charge diminishes you can again use regenerative braking until the level reaches...
I think putting a big enough battery and the accompanying motor to convert the PB to a plugin means a sacrifice in payload. My PB has a 1328 lbs payload. When I tow a 6000 lbs trailer, and I add my wife, my dog, and I to the load, I only have 400 lbs left of payload. A decent plug-in battery...
My truck‘s plastic post and rubber boot get loose. Once it shot out of the door when I unlatched it. I have to put the whole assembly back using needle nose pliers, but it gets loose after half a dozen fill ups or so.
When I turn on the rear view camera while in motion, there is a message to check my surroundings in the middle of the screen. Other camera views have messages at the bottom. Is there a way to remove the message or move it to the bottom of the screen, maybe using ForScan?
SUCCESS!!!!! Thank you Jesse!!
That worked. After 8 days trying, they did what you said. It took 5 hours to do it. I took it to a highway today and the screen changed to blue and and Blue Cruise worked great.
Previously they had updated the GWM software, the TCU software, reset the BMS, but...
I partially agree. I monitor the level of charge the hybrid battery has (using FIXD ODB2 connector) and I find that the truck will go into electric mode when the battery is between 42% and 70% charge. Outside of that range I can't get it to go electric even if I'm going at 30 MPH. So, when the...
