So even though I've owned my '22 for a little over a year now, I only now decided to explore "Eco Mode". The Owner's Manual is pretty vague, offering no specifics.

Ford F-150 Eco Mode, Anyone? 1682181901514

Can someone tell me specifically what this mode changes, and how? I tried it for the first time the other day, and the only things that I noticed were the instrument color change to green, and a summary when you shut down, listing Acceleration, Deceleration, and Speed, with a percentage associated with each category (frankly, I don't quite understand what that is all about...). Not a big deal one way or the other - just curious...

well on my powerboost eco mode really changes how the accelerator pedel feels. The pedel feels very mushy its to help accelerate smoothly and slowly and keep the rpms lower. I also believe the shifting pattern of the transmission is changed to shift sooner to help keep the rpms low. the mushy pedel feel is what a lot of people don't like about eco mode because it make the truck feel like its underpowered and has no get up and go unless you floor it.

Now if you have a lead foot then eco mode may help get you better fuel economy but if you have good pedel control than any drive mode will be similar in fuel economy.

so the percentages that you see are telling you how you did on each category. If you didn't know hard breaking, hard acceleration, and driving fast will tank your fuel economy.

Eco works really well with adaptive cruise enabled for highway drives. Eco smooths out the the automatic acceleration, way less jerky.

That’s about all it’s good for.

I should have specified that my '22 is an EcoBoost, not a PowerBoost. In any case, that is interesting stuff, and I'm guessing that the vehicle modifications made by switching to Eco Mode are likely the same for both a EB and a PB. I did not detect a "mushy pedal feel" or a difference in transmission shift points, but I wasn't looking for it either. (In Tow Mode, the change in shift points is somewhat obvious.) I'll try it again, and this time look for these changes. As far as Adaptive Cruise Control, goes, I don't use it - I strongly prefer the "standard" Cruise Control (just a personal preference).

I’m not sure anyone has a definitive answer outside of the different tuning companies, BUT it does seem to make throttle tip in and response far less aggressive and pushes the higher opening of the throttle body further into the pedal travel of the gas pedal. It searches for higher gears a bit sooner than usual and the shifting seems to be a bit less aggressive (harsh) as well. I’ve also noticed that the truck won’t upshift or get into boost as early either (if going up hill it’ll allow you to slow down a few MPH before downshifting or getting into boost)

Essentially all this does is changes how fast you accelerate assuming equal pedal pressure under your foot relative to other driver modes. As mentioned above, you can make normal mode just as economical as eco mode by modulating the throttle using your foot.

In my 5.0 you get a heavier pedal, so soother acceleration when leave a stop sign or light. Like someone else said, it's not as jerky in traffic with adaptive cruise. I'm not a heavy footed driver, so I use it often.

Interesting... also sounds completely logical... I might have to play around with it a little bit more, and try to alert/sensitive to these changes.

Eco mode is designed to be more fuel efficient. It changes the transmission shift points to where the motor will lug versus down shift, and it will up shift sooner versus staying in the power band. The mushy pedal is more of an analogy. It's meant more so to mean less throttle response. In Eco mode you really have to put your foot into it if you want to be more than a slug and in the way. I only use it on the highway and when there is no traffic around town.

Pick a speed, say 30 mph and either switch from normal to Eco or vice versa and you should be able to tell that the pedal gets a lot softer when going to Eco and it firms up when you go back to normal. Much the same except accelerated when you do this with sport. Other than that it tries to emphasize going into electric a little more and keeps your cruise control from punching it when you try to resume speed, gives a much linear speed up time.

like everyone is saying. Slower throttle response. I tried using it for two weeks and didn't notice any better fuel economy at all, and I'm not a lead foot. 2022 Lariat with the 5.0.

So, I had the truck out, and put it in Eco Mode after driving in Normal Mode for awhile, and was paying attention to the differences mentioned. I get it now. What really drove it home (sorry, bad pun...) was I also switched to Sport Mode for the very first time. Wow - that really demonstrated the difference in pedal "feel" (throttle response) and shift points. Then switched back to Eco Mode for awhile, then back to Normal Mode. This little exercise really demonstrated all of the differences. Thanks for everyone's input.
