I don’t think there’s any difference that I can find. Perhaps they had some interior design differences at one point, but I’m with you they are the same motor coach. We like the floor plan too especially at just 27 feet. It’s just a foot longer than the big Sprinters. The cargo carrying and towing numbers are great too thanks to the 7.3 and the E-450 chassis.

Reminded of this thread as I was shopping for a new chassis truck for the business, my opinion was the E-450/Godzilla is more proper truck than the Transit chassis by a long shot. For a non small service truck if you are doing work body (unicell) and carrying any real payloads the E-series with the bigger hood/doghouse and big V8 are a better package. For a service van the transit seems fine. I’m going with the E-450 myself.

The RV forums recommend getting a proper alignment once you build it out. The factory alignment is just as a cutaway chassis and needs more positive caster added. Steering damper helps too apparently.

Ended up buying a Transit now for service stuff (just like I had a hunch it would be good for). Drove it all this weekend before I get it labeled and the rack goes on Tuesday. Holy cow hopping in my F-150 5.0 tonight feels like a Duramax Diesel compared to the 3.5 NA and the Transit has lower 3.73 gears too. Came outfitted with racks and bulkhead. Wanted something turn key. Has LSD. Nice truck overall. One thing I do not like is the lack of a proper ladder frame, I still think it should be BOF. That V6 works hard, typical acceleration for my 5.0/3.31 doesn’t run much over 2,000 rpm, this V6 winds out to 3,000+ rpm in standard driving.

About half the price, and I will stay mostly on pavement, but it’s an E-450 with the 7.3L 😊
