Decided to pick up a new engine air filter with my oil today for my 44k mile oil change on my 2023. Look how nasty the original filter was….just in case anyone is approaching that 40-50k mile mark. Change your engines air filter!

Yikes. I wonder if it's due to the intake location on the new trucks but I never had a filter look that bad when replacing it on my older trucks. I did notice some black stuff starting to form already on my 2024's filter and my truck has just under 3000 miles on it.

Replaced cabin and engine filters today. Got both on Amazon for $35 total. I have a 2023 PB with 30k miles first time changing them.
They were pretty bad.
The dealership wanted $170 to do it while I was in for oil change. Lollllll

Yeah, Ford recommends changing every 30k miles (48,000km). Doing the 32,000km service on mine today but will be replacing the engine air filter as well. It’s not nearly as bad as yours, but still gross.

Edit: actually pretty bad

Good Morning,
yep might look dirty but the filter is doing is job, and the air system pickup whatever is going into it by experiences i never changed my air filter unless it is very dirty meaning if i had to drive in dirt road as i have to go in forestry operation some time or city driving, remember that each time you open the air filter box you have dust ingress, going into the engine in heavy equipment we use a vacuum gauge with a set restriction indication when we reach the treshold its the time to change it, a dirty filter is blocking more small particule than a brand new one we use to check our air filter in the past with our portable lamp if we see the light clearly the filter was still good, and I never had an engine starting to burn oil because of inside wear, this is my two cents advice never fix something that it is not broken, so when you replace your filter make sure that you clean the air box and verify all the ducting going to your intake,
