Does anyone know if the active motion massage seats can be added after purchase or if they will be a retro fit from ford at a latter date

Definitely doable. And if your Platinum needs a new BCM it will be the first I’ve ever heard of. I did mine by myself. It is a job that requires no experience but a lot of patient carefulness. The Forscan part is by far the easiest part. And Jesse isn’t far from you.

Wonder if anyone has ever seen this or has pointers of where to look next:
– MCS works great on Passenger side - cool
- On Driver's side - round controls don't work, you have to use the screen - fine, but a hassle
- On Driver's side - Only massage functions available are upper and lower rolling, though all five show on the screen - BUMMER (pic below)
- Seats screen never goes away - but I think I've seen lots of folks have that issue and maybe it's just how they work on Fords (but I've seen some comments that seems to say it goes away on Lincolns) - meh, would like to solve but more want all five massages AND the seat controls to work on the driver's seat

What I did to get here:
- Cut my hands up on the jagged metal inside one of the seat frames
- Left some blood stains in random spots in my fancy car (Limited, in case that means anything to anyone - to me it meant to pay attention to Forescan around running boards and speakers)
- Broke the zipper on the drivers side
- Replaced all the standard parts with a whole laundry list of MCS parts (Which I'm happy to add in another post for those just getting started and having trouble going through all the previous 35 pages of comments - but that's another topic, and just ask)
- Punched enough things into Forscan to get above working, but not sure right here WHAT I punched in though could find in notes somewhere - but the nature of my problems leads me to think the various systems are AWARE of MCS and trying to do the right things - which makes me think it's a connection or a bad part on the Driver's side
– I've jiggled all the connections I can find - but not removed the seats a second time to REALLY JIGGLE things
– swapped the two side-of-seat controllers just to you know make sure they both kinda work - this was inconclusive because when swapped things are mapped differently so things don't work as expected - BUT when swapped the Driver's round button did NOTHING on the passenger side, but as I said that's inconclusive because the Passenger's round button also did NOTHING on the driver's side. (The bottom and back buttons moved things, just not as expected)

Wonder if anyone has any deep thoughts/rabbit holes to go down.

My next step is to find the wiring diagrams (need to pay for another 3 day plan) and double check that all the wires in the HW controller ARE indeed correct and I don't need to add a jumper or something somewhere (Couple pics below - both sides of the driver's controller - and the screen - yes it's showing passenger in the pic, but same shows for Driver)

Thoughts?

I have a 25MY Lariat Powerboost and would be willing to undertake this upgrade and document along the way. Before I dive in, is anyone confident that the parts list from a ways back would still be relevant with 25MY (aside from replaced-by instances)

Do all 2021 KR, Platinum and Limited trucks have active motion?
Was going to look for these trim levels at a wreckers and just buy the whole seat assemblies.
Any easy way to check window stickers for older trucks to confirm their builds?

Anyone installed just one seat and enabled MCS? I am short a couple of passenger side pieces with backorders a month+ out, but would kind of like to give this a shot on the LH side since I've got all the parts. Just wondering if something will freak out if the electronics are mismatched..

I only installed the driver's side, and everything works fine. I get a DTC because it can't find the passenger side module, but it doesn't affect anything else in the truck. Good luck!

I just did my driver's seat, and am having the exact same issue as you are with the cushion functions not working. All my physical controls work and the upper side works, but won't let me select anything except the top two options. Did you make any progress on the problem?

In Forscan, I only had one change to make in the BCM (at 7D0-01-03). I did not see any additional modules show up in Forscan, not sure if that is still a thing (saw that about adding MCS to easrlier trucks). I have read if you are missing them, then there may be something else to update, but can't figure out what.

So admittedly, I am doing this on an F450. However, things generally appear identical except the wiring harnesses having an additional plug for occupancy sensor that I don't have. I used the F150 lower harness which was a perfect swap, except it has one extra plug on it. I have seen others with super duty trucks using F150 harnesses and it was plug and play.

EDIT: The only way to get the new MCS modules to show up is turning the config on in the BCMC. After you do that and rescan in forscan, the new modules will pop up and can make you changes. Passenger seat works now.
What change did you make to 'turn on the config' in the BCMC? Not seeing the new modules.

Just completed, with one issue, both seats on a super duty using the info gained in this thread. Bladders upper and lower are same as F150, harnesses are slightly different due to F150 having impact/occupancy sensors.

Passenger seat was plug and play, works perfectly.

Driver seat is the same issue as @noloco - Everything functions as expected, except no lower bladder function; can't select anything on the menu that involves the lower bladder even though it is on screen.

I verified power/ground at the 3 pin plug on the lower module, and am assuming the LIN wire is good which goes directly to the upper module (no way to test it really), traced it on diagrams, it's a short wire. I swapped in the other lower bladder to try it, no change. I am using a F150 lower harness and SD upper harness (parts availability...), which I have both read as being compatible, found a post where someone used F150 harnesses in a SD, and also verified pinouts at the plug between them per F150 and SD OEM wiring diagrams - at least anything to do with the modules and can lines anyway. Besides that, all physical buttons work and the upper massage features all function. I am stumped, any ideas!?

Well at least I'm not alone in this plight…I've made no progress - have even tried a different bladder to no avail.
