Yeah, my platinum was one of the first off the line to no get one. I knew this already before I placed the order.

unfortunately I needed a new truck asap and couldn’t wait. Any idea if it will be able to purchase in the future?

Pics in this post give some indication of the particular bed-opening accommodations (latch-fittings, etc bolted to the bed itself) for the PAT (aka 'Pro-Access Tailgate'). There do appear to be differences compared to the traditional drop-down tailgate.

Surely at some point you'll be able to, with sufficient big $, buy the PAT components (they gotta be available for accident repair) but installing those on a non-PAT bed may be another question entirely.

Stick around here long enough and surely someone will try it and report on success or failure, but IMO no-one will know for sure until it's actually investigated in detail with a truck in-hand (too early for that) ;)

It won't be long before one with it takes a bad hit in the front and gets totaled..But I bet just buying the 'parts' to add it would be well over $5,000.00.
