So yesterday I brought in my 2022 XLT 302a to the dealership for 3 recalls and repeated battery drain warnings in the app. My recalls were related to the harness chaffing on the rear axle, windshield wiper motor and the park lamp flickering.

They had the parts in stock to correct all of the recalls, they updated the module for the park lamps and they tested and replaced my battery, new H6 installed under warranty.

I picked up the truck and drove off, a minute later I noticed all of my interior cabin lights were on and they would not turn off with the buttons. I pulled over, checked all of the doors, turned the truck off and back on but still the lights would not turn off. Drove it back to the dealership and they took it in right away and 10 minutes later they informed me that they had missed 2 updates. 10 minutes after that they came by to tell me the interior lights were now off but the headlights were now not working.

They sent me home with a 2024 bronco sport. It seems like whatever new update they installed is also not working well with the quad beam led headlights.

Got a call today at noon stating that they need to order a new headlight control module for the front left lamp, they’re hoping that will fix the issue. Will post back once I learn more.

All other lights seem to be working, including the bed lights.

EDIT: Moved to ECU thread for wider audience…

Headlight Issue...LED quad lights on 2021 XLT 302A.

Purchased in mid-December. On the way home it notified me that it would install an update overnight. The next morning, I noticed my left LED was out. The following weekend, I replaced the LED Control Module. After replacing the module, the LED lit up but 45 min later when I went to leave, it was out again.

After perusing the forum, I thought it might be a bad BCM update. A couple of weeks ago, I updated all modules FDRS and ordered another LED module.

Last night I took the front end apart and replaced the module again. It lit up for about 60 seconds, then went out. However, in troubleshooting I discovered that if I run a LIN initialization, BCM config, PMI, or Enhanced Exterior Light Calibration, the LED will light up for anywhere from 30 second to next restart, then go out again.

Because I can get it to light up on a consistent basis before it goes out again, it's starting to feel like it's more of a software/programming issue, than a LED control module issue.

Any thoughts/feedback?

This sounds like something that is best sorted out with the dealer getting Ford engineering involved. And for selfish reasons, this is the only way that a real solution will be developed for all of us.

I don't want to dump too much on my dealership right now since they have my Mighty Powerboost.
But I don't think they would have a clue.
