BCM Update - Worth a dealer trip?

Hi All,

I've spent the last month or so updating my new to me 21 Lariat. It had never been updated and got stuck on a sync version. I did a rain dance for a few weeks until the magical USB update took, then another weekend of FDRS updates; time ran out, and today I did another 2 day license of FDRS and what appeared to be the last available updates.

I've seen in other threads that the BCM can not be updated because of the NASTF login requirement. I didn't see any way around that but if I'm missing something please point me in the right direction as I have another 40hrs or so of FDRS license left. Below is the BCM update that would be applied next. Is this worth a trip to the dealer? I've read some threads about bricked BCM's. I either have a very weak battery or a misbehaving module - any chance updating the BCM would help?

I did get up to sync version 23159 Rev 915 in the update process - is that the latest?

That update changes the strategy the truck uses to charge the 12v battery; you gain no useful feature out of it. On the EV's, this update is what allows walk-away locking to work, but for the ICE trucks, there is no tangible feature you gain from it.

12v battery as in the main truck battery? Mine keeps going flat....

May be time to replace it. I would charge it to 100 with an external charger and reset the BMS once the battery is fully charged. If the battery continue to lose charge, then it may be time to replace it. If you still have warranty, dealer would have to test it and have the test fail for warranty to cover it.

May be time to replace it. I would charge it to 100 with an external charger and reset the BMS once the battery is fully charged. If the battery continue to lose charge, then it may be time to replace it. If you still have warranty, dealer would have to test it and have the test fail for warranty to cover it.
And the new bcm update is required by ford to diagnos the charging issue, before they replace battery...and after they put in new battery
I went through 2, the 3rd they had to do the bcm update..all under warranty
Plus it gave me the trailer turn signal cameras operable

Is the battery under the powertrain or only bumper to bumper? I've charged to 100% a few times and have been keeping it on a battery tender. I tend to only drive a few miles a day.

Is the battery under the powertrain or only bumper to bumper? I've charged to 100% a few times and have been keeping it on a battery tender. I tend to only drive a few miles a day.
I believe bumper-to-bumper.

Yes
1st battery about 5 days to low state of charge that caused ota fails and deep sleep ..
2nd took a bit longer. But still would would randomly drop below threshold in state of charge for ota, plus it deep sleep fast
3rd they had to do update to test system.
I don't have any more issues and low state of charge now is my fault,
