Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the active air dam via Forscan? If so, I would like to do this for the winter to prevent it from being damaged or torn off by the snow.

Following. Mine was already taken down by a snow drift and I removed the rest of it along with the actuators. However this results in a persistent, although unlit, DTC.

Hoping that if it can be shut off via Forscan perhaps the DTC will go away.

Good question. We know some trucks leave factory without it if they have snow plow prep or the Tremor models. I was thinking similar about Forscan because I removed it completely and capped off the motors. I get the code logged for that reason but if there is way to turn it off then I would think it wouldn't generate a silent code.

Interesting, so what do snow plow prep trucks look like? Anyone have any part numbers?

Worst case scenario if no one can figure out how to disable it in Forscan, you should be able to disable it by disconnecting the electrical connectors on both actuators, then just cap and stow them until spring. This should result in the dam remaining retracted until they are plugged back in again.

This will generate the silent DTC, but it can be ignored easily enough.

Slightly more work than just clicking a few keys, but the result should be the same.

I know doesn't include active air dam and it has some extra wiring for snow plow connections but that's just what I've read on here. I don't recall seeing photos of it.

You'd think there would be a way to maybe make a plug with resistor or something to that manner to "trick" truckbinto believing it's deploying the air dam so there's no codes. I'd love to take mine completely off but with as much stuff is computer and all involved I wouldn't want to risk something else happening from me removing air dam

It's literally in the Ford instructions for installing a Ford performance skid plate. No risk of anything if you buy the other end of connectors so you have a nice dead end sealed from weather. Ford doesn't have that in the directions but that's what I and some others have done. My moving air dam was already stuck on the fixed air dam when I bought the damn truck in April. So no loss to me and it looks a lot better.

As was mentioned, it is a soft code that will not trigger a light on the dash if you disconnect or remove it. I took mine off months ago when I installed the Tremor skid plate on mine. I put the pieces I removed on OfferUp with the actuators and all and sold them for $175 to a guy that crashed his F150 and was fixing it himself. Win/Win.

So they have the end connectors to buy. Does that keep from the code being thrown ?

Yeah I'd read it doesn't throw cel but I'd hate to think it could do something later in the future with a soft code so long ends up a hard code or something.

Not something to stop codes, just protects connectors from any chance of weather issues. Many report no issues just leaving connectors bare though.

Are these the only connectors you need? why 9 of the little ones? are they fillers?

are there two different connectors? Mine gets stuck down. wet snow plus -20F will lock them up pretty quick. I do wash my trucks with hot water once a week to remove ice buildup.
