If you would of just started off with not bashing Ford technolagy and just ask your questions everthing would be great, Yes a lot of us can back up trailers and have for years, The button just helps some people and some its just another cool gaget.
I’m not bashing the technology at all, i’ve been a Ford guy since I could drive. Even a Ford executive that I know thinks it’s a stupid piece of tech and just a gimmick. I’m bashing the fact that people who can’t back a trailer shouldn’t be driving one in the first place.. It just enables idiots on the road to be even more dangerous with more weight behind them.

I bet you wouldn't be able to back my short waverunner trailer in a perfectly straight line for 200 yards like the pro trailer backup does. The way the steering wheel moves is absolutely crazy, but it keeps a perfectly straight line. Yes, I know how to back a trailer too, but there are times this comes in handy.

Wait till this guy figures out some people remote start their trucks instead of doing it the old fashioned way from inside the vehicle….

I use that feature. But see I can start my truck the normal way and using the remote doesnt make me any less safe. I know how to back up with out the gimic. if you lose your sticker, you're stuck. your argument is invalid, Potatos and Apples dude. Knowing how to remote start your truck doesn't make you a less safe driver. not knowing how to drive 20,000 lbs down the road (Curb+Trailer) DOES make you less safe!

Do it many times a year. I have a single-slot trailer for a single stand-up jet ski. can do it just fine, even without the camera.

Your logic is broken.

You are not accounting for people who can move their trailers with the “gimmick” and also without it. The population who fall into that category would make up over 99% of folks. Even YOU would fall into that category if you weren’t so stubborn and gave if a try. Or maybe you have and already do.

Haha these people always "know executives" or "I'm an engineer " yep buddy I'm writing this post from the moon. I actually backed my truck up all the way here using the technology your imaginary "executive" thinks is a "stupid piece of tech and a gimmick"

It's such a stupid piece of tech and gimmick "executives" like you know have been adding it for almost 10 years.

I want to delete the useless pro trailer back up assist knob. I actually know how to back a trailer and don't need a the gimic to do it. Personally i feel if you can't back it up you shouldn't be towing it in the first place. Some people will be triggered by this and lash out because they think "its just great". My condolences to you and your feelings.

Any who... anyone know what the blank plate part number is or where i can find it. also what modules in for scan do I need to change to get any error messages or DTC to go away. I want to keep the trailer camera and tire pressure monitors (these are not cheats just situational awareness) I have plans for the space where the button goes. I'm either putting a mic there for a radio, a cell phone mount with mag safe charger as the induction charger in the truck doesn't work well with the larger phones in a chase, or a button for an "enable light bar" (use it with the high beams to trigger the led light bar rather than having to hit the button each time). either way, I do not want the stupid knob.

Congratulations on your manliness. You might want to go a few steps further and rip out your backup camera altogether, while your at it, maybe your backup sensors and beepers.
Personally I would rip out any chimes, letting you know you havent buckled up or that your door isnt closed all the way, cuz clearly you are man enough to know all of that right?
However attacking or insulting those that do want or need this is really cool. And doubling down by saying you dont give a fuck about their feelings, just screams how awesome of a man you are.

Lets also ignore the future buyer of your 'man-mobile' and that you ripped out something they may want.
God how I want to be you someday.

I think everyone (including me) just needs to try to be more civil in their posts as well as life in general. There should be no problem with a post about how to delete the backup assist knob, but the problem is that there was also the part saying no one should be towing if they need it or just use it. Needless pontification. And others don't need to judge the poster either for what they are wanting to do.

I do know the part number you are looking for, however I will not share it. Personally , I feel that if you can’t use google or call a Ford dealers parts department, you shouldn’t be allowed on the internet.
You probably should call your Ford executive friend, he should be able to get you the part number. Unless you don’t like the fancy telecommunications technology we have available. In that case, maybe write him a letter.

Owner, IT Consulting\MSP company.
So to summarize, he miraculously got $20,000 off of MSRP, which has to be a world first. Is personal friends with Jim Farley who apparently bashes the company he works for and owns 15 trailers.
The jist of his post is really not to bash a useless gimmick because the truck from front bumper to back is filled with them, its to let us all know he can back up his trailer, he paid less than all of us, and he golfs with Jim Farley.
And not just any trailer, all 15 of his trailers. Even ones that total over 20,000lbs (Plat Powerboost, heaviest truck is 7600lbs so his trailer is over 12,400. Doable? Yah maybe, but to do it with an F150 and not a SuperDuty, calls into question, this guys professed Genius.
Lastly, the fact that this Genius can do all of these miraculous things, but cant go to a wrecking yard and find a plate in an XLT or XL proves the entire premis of this post was to be a s*** stirrer.
