The previous owner appears to have deleted the factory master door code from my 2021 F150 Lariat. There was no manual with a factory master code card, so I used the two-key method to get the car to display the code on startup. When I enter this code in the SYNC4 interface to set new codes, it says it's incorrect. I confirmed every step, several times. I know the master factory code is also printed on the control module by the passenger footwell, but I am confident it will say the same when I pop off the trim tomorrow. Can anyone confirm the option to delete the factor code exists in SYNC4? Better yet, any way to reinstate the factory master code without access to any other codes?

I messaged my buddy at a local Ford dealership, who works in service. I sent him a copy of your post and this is his response.

"From what I understand that factory code comes with only the BCM and cannot be reset to a different code. Only a new BCM module would come with a new and different code."

I know you can add codes to your truck but the original can not be changed. Only way to change the master code is change the BCM. That being said, the BCM could have changed out. If you bought from a dealer, they should be able to see if the BCM was changed and maybe get the master code. Or take the serial number from the BCM module and get a response from Ford.

you can also pull in it forscan or your dealer can pull it
if the code on the kick panel module is missing
its also on the back of the sync display thing.
but yes the master code cannot be deleted unless you change our the module.

I had the exact same issue, using the 2 keys would give me a code that didn't work, I pulled the passenger kick panel and got a different code off the module and that one did work.
You were 100% right, thank you. It's odd that of all the resources on the internet explaining the three ways to find your factory code, not a single one mentions they may be mismatched. I wonder how that happens.

Thanks so much for asking around for me. The code on the BCM did in fact NOT match the code displayed by checking both keys. It's so weird that such a thing is possible, it makes me wonder if the keys have been replaced and that code is somehow stored on the key? I would assume the keys only tell the truck to display what is already coded into the BCM. Kelly above had the exact same issue evidently - so at least I feel normal. All working now. Cheers!

Possible the truck code is stored in the key flobs. This could be part of th programing of the flobs to the truck.

I hate to dredge up an old post, but our cars were broken into last night (well I inadvertantly left it unlocked which is unusual for me). I can't be sure but it looks like they may have gotten the door code from the card with the manual.

Not sure I want to have the bcm replaced, so can you double the door pads? I never use them anyways.

the factory installed keypad is hard wired for power unlike the add-on/stick-on version so it can be done. The interior door panel and such will have to be removed so you can access the wire harness inside the door. I believe there is a youtube video or two that will help you out

I installed one on my XL, had to get a new trim piece, so you'd have to replace that if you don't want a keypad sized hole in your door. One option would be to just open the door up and unplug the wiring harness, but leave the keypad installed. Also not sure if the forscan changes relating to installing the keypad can be reversed to disable it without unplugging, but that might be worth looking into as well.

you can also pull in it forscan
Any mid-level DIAG tablet scanner can also pick up the code, such as AUTEL, OTOFix, Launch, etc. Cause nobody should ever need to suffer going to a dealer.

That is my plan B. I'm waiting on my dealership to get back to me, but I doubt they will have any good solutions.

Thanks! I'll check it out. Mine should be hard wired.
