Like an Amazon delivery van. Gotcha. The little Mercedes diesel works well for that too.

Powerboost is serious overkill for that application as you correctly stated the big Ram would be.

Yes the 3.0 Duramax for 1500 series GM trucks. It is similar to other 3L diesels from MB and Ford etc.

They all get relatively good mpg while towing in the half ton range when compared to their gas counterparts.

Work truck is a good purpose for them. Beat them to death and get a new one.

My frustration is not with small displacement diesels. I think they can be a wonderful choice for certain applications.

I realized the Powerboost was new and unproven technology with incredible promise when I bought mine. The 3.5EB ICE component and even the 10 speed AT are known goods, so I took the leap and purchased.

I assume everyone else who decided to purchase a PB came to the same decision in a similar fashion, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

Why in the world would someone spend $60k-$90k on unproven technology and then complain if there are bugs yet to be worked out?

If you should have bought an old technology diesel then you should never have considered the PB in the first place. I don't understand that at all.

I purchased mine based on the experience I had with a 2006 Escape Hybrid. It's still going strong at 17 years. I thought the design of that one was elegant and well done. So as I saw things the PowerBoost was evolutionary, not new, technology. My 2021 PowerBoost is going strong so far...

Keep HVAC blower on 5 or higher. To keep the 12v voltage high while sitting, keyfob in truck and doors closed. Those variables will prevent the truck from using lower float voltages.

I've been doing this, at least some of the time. It still doesn't make sense to me but you've measured the results and I haven't, so no harm in it.

It might be related, or coincidental but twice yesterday, my center screen froze and rebooted itself.

It didn't stop the truck from being drivable but it wouldn't allow changes to audio, even from the knobs.

As for as time? Ya know how time warps when you're unexpectedly waiting for something but less than 2 mins total, maybe one.

I didn't have to do anything except wait that short time.

If battery related, it is a little odd that it would be after a full charging to the float condition, on a smart charger and yes, on the correct side of the BMS.

Not quite 2 months and a fuzz over 1200 miles.

Flawless performance, right at 22 MPG avg. No warnings or notifications, until just now when I saw this warning on Ford Pass.

My routine trips are short. 8 miles to town to run errands and another back.

Electrically, I haven't babied it, welcome is enabled and climate control is on auto but I've tried to pay attention. Not unnecessarily carry the fob with me, Eco idle is enabled etc. but I have been fitting it with a trailer cam system and a few other things so, some time more than what will eventually be normal, in accessory mode.

Just back from a 300ish mile round trip over the weekend and a 3 stop 50 mile rt on Mon. One would think it was charged.

Yesterday was the first day it was used as a truck. Nothing heavy but carrying tools from spot to spot with the tailgate down. Several starts and stops, just minutes long. And I had the fob on me. It probably woke up to welcome me ... 20 times? Maybe a little more? I'd honestly forgotten the first couple and then decided to just let things run their course and see what happened. Well ...

I'll pop the hood and log the voltage. See if it will start. If not, I'll walk away for 20 mins. Try again. Try out the new jump pack if it won't. Probably put it on the charger, either way.

I'll get back with you on the results.

I have a 2021 Build 1 Platinum. It has a chronic problem of going into Deep Sleep mode. If I walk out to the truck, open the door and the interior lights don't come on, I know it's happening again. I took it to the dealer, and after 3 days they hadn't determined the source of the problem. I asked if anybody had reset the BCM. Never got an answer. So I decided to try something I'd seen on this board. Brought it home. Did this:

In vehicle door closed.

KOEO (Key on engine off) wait for solid "battery" light on instrument panel..

flash high beams 5 times, step on brake 3 times,, "battery" light will flash and then go solid.

Key off.

Reset complete.

No joke. It works. Lasted about 4 months, then the Deep Sleep crap started again. Did the same thing. No problem for the last 2 months.

What series full hybrid truck has been around for a long time?

I'm sure the list is long of 7.2kW capable onboard inverters available out there as well. Let's name them together.

Ummmm...you start.

A golf cart is an EV so what's the big deal about the Model S. Nothing

Series or Planetary, hybrid is a hybrid. Copy that.

Ford is terrible yada yada yada. It's tiring after awhile.

Did you mean reset BMS rather than BCM?
