Need some help on getting the truck 100% dark mode. No lights. Nada. Nothing. Can I do it with forscan? I've activated the "dark mode" switch but still have many glowing things that should not be glowing when I tell them go dark.

I just went out and tried to help, but could not find a combination of zone lighting plus light switch settings that prevent the lights from coming on.

Guys I believe the F-150 police interceptor version has a different headlight switch than the standard F-150. This may have something to do with dark mode. Our town just purchased one, I want to snap a shot of the vin to look up a couple of things on that truck. It should be in front of my house in 2 weeks for the township memorial day parade. If the right guy is there I'll check it out and let you all know ?

Now that's worth waiting for!

Police interceptor is a XL w/ 4A xfer case, 120mph top speed, FX4 package, and a couple other features including the ability to push a button on the headlight switch that allows the physical key to be shut off while keeping the truck running. There's also a pursuit mode switch that turns off the auto braking and associated features for performing pits. It's got a 'tuned' 3.5EB engine w/ 400/500tq. It's "pursuit rated" which has very little details into what's changed. By all appearances that label is just something that's been given to it by running tests while driving.

You may be able to get the headlight switch and incorporate it into other trims. Of note though, keyfob trucks can already be left running while taking the keyfob with you. Also of note, simply getting the 'tow tech' package gives it 360 cams as well. It's rated to tow 7klbs w/ out tow package.

Are you trying to blackout while in motion or while vehicle is parked?

AFAIK, I was only able to enable dark mode / police mode with Forscan. It would be great if there was a way to enable / disable with a button, but a real button appears to be limited to the pursuit trims.

I ended up with "silent" mode, which only inhibits lighting when the vehicle is parked. My use case is camping, so "silent" is exactly what I'm after. Plus, there's a APIM edit to enable a toggle switch on the touchscreen. The ability to enable or disable without Forscan works exactly as one would expect.

Here are the 3 edits for "silent":

I think "dark/police mode" is usually all interior lights off with engine running and headlight switch set to off. At least that is what my 2011 would do.

I saw something in Forscan for that but haven't messed with it yet.

Sometimes it's nice to sit in the dark for a few minutes before getting out to go into work.

Yes, need both. I'll check those forscan links to see if I have them set...

Had a friend with FORSCAN who activated the "Silent Mode" option which is a police feature. Very nice for when we are camping along with eliminating the double honk when getting out with your key fob in your pocket too.
