If this is from a lift it’s happened before and likely they will own up right away. Otherwise go in and ask about it worst they can say is no and you can let insurance reach out to them.

I would not recommend insurance for something as small as this. It only takes, I think, 2 claims, in 5 years, to become basically uninsurable. Eat this out of pocket and save your insurance for when you really need it.Tip: always do a thorough walk-around inspection before leaving any service facility that has had care of a vehicle. It only takes a minute or two, it's an easy and potentially beneficial habit to adopt.
So in fact it's quite possible that this mysterious damage, which isn't easily explained as being related to your dealer service visit (and certainly can't be proven as related after-the-fact), could just as easily have occurred as a result of some other unknown / mysterious 'mayhem' in that week+ after the service visit.
I honestly don't understand why one would go back to the dealer for such a time-delayed discovery, what can you possibly offer by way of assigning fault to the dealer and what can the dealer possibly offer by way of defense? That sounds like you are searching for a scapegoat.
Stuff happens, that's what insurance is for.
Did they have any explanation as to what might have happened or admit any fault/knowledge of it?Finally heard back from the dealership. They will assist with the repair !
