As long as you can invest at a rate higher than the loan rate, it is free money. I have 1.9 for 72 on my truck but pretty much any of the brokerages pay you 4% in a money market acct. I may look at leftover 24's after the first of the year. Stuff left over into spring is very heavily discounted so don't get impatient...

Very hard to guess. My prediction: Fed is gonna drop FFR to 0 or very close over next 12-18 months, but rising inflation will keep rates for consumers high. How you interpret that depends upon what, if any, correction factor you apply to the CPI in order to get a real rate of interest (i.e. nominal rate - average rate of inflation). E.g. a 6% loan is a good deal IF inflation is 9% and your income stream is keeping pace with inflation. If your income streams are lagging or ignoring inflation (as SSI, wages, many investments, heck just about everything but the riskiest segment of the stock market tends to do), then the inflation adjustment to the nominal rate of interest really just counts against you.

I would say wait until Ford Truck month in February where they have to move inventory! They give the best interest rates and money off deals everywhere! I’m currently on a 1.9% rate for 72 months AND got over 30K off on my 2023 Rocky Ridge back in February this year because they HAD to try and move them. At the time they had like 8 of them! I told them that I was doing THEM a favor by taking the truck off of their hands! And we made it happen! The truck only had 26 miles on the dash and those were only dealership test drive miles.
I bought my 2023 in December of 2023 and got 2.9% - didn't think they'd drop even more at the time and was a little disappointed when I saw they did. But, it was already tough finding a truck that had all my non-negotiables at a dealer that was willing to give a decent discount. I also had a $3k PCO that was going to expire at the end of December so I could have lost out on that.

Had I waited, I may have also had to make more compromises in features. The only thing I truly wish this truck had that I was trying hard to find at the time is the B&O Unleashed instead of the regular B&O, but I could solve that aftermarket if I really wanted to.

Well given the fact that they’ve deleted so many features on the 2024. A 2023 model is a win win all day. Especially when they took away Flex Fuel. But I understand that you want what you want.

One thing for me was the elimination of the sport appearance package. I think black wheels and accents are overdone so I was happy to get a leftover 2023 with the gunmetal wheels and simple lack of chrome.

I hate paying interest on a depreciating asset, it's like a double punch in the gut.

5 months left on my 0%/36mo note, rate was locked in December 2021 for my June 2022 order delivery.

No doubt those days will return, but who knows when!?!?
They had the same thing running over the summer as part of their summer promo which included no payments for 90 days (a bit of a gimmick, there's no payments for 45 days on all finance as is). 0/36 is active for roughly half of the year albeit not consecutively.

Deals vary by state as well so there's no real universal. Given the state of things right now, not paying cash and financing below 3% is fairly smart given current returns on investments, especially industry dependent. I've had 2 different stocks yield 1000% return bought at the same time I picked up my truck on 1.9%. Even then I have no interest in getting rid of my perfectly functioning truck that's nearly paid off. There's no new here on current models. You can pay more but you're not getting more. You're better off modifying your truck if there's a feature you didn't get the first time. Countless folks here have already done the leg work of figuring it out.

Gee, thanks.

Ford also took the bigger fog lights away from the 2023 XLT’s and replaced them with literally a light bulb. ?On the 2024 models you have to get a Lariat and up to get them.

Now on all the 2025 models the Key pads on the doors are gone. Or are you the type that don’t mind paying more for less every year? Oh let me guess you want me to name more features they took away? Here’s a video for you.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
I bought a 23 at 0%/36 that included TTL, extended warranties, accessories that the dealer installed, and a free trip to the dentist. I was out of pocket $0 (great!). The size of that payment really got my attention (damn!).

The last car I purchased new was a loaded out 74 Cutlass Salon. Traded in my 67 Toronado for $800. My 36 month payment was $172/month. I thought I was going to starve trying to pay it along with my $169 all bills paid apartment at the same time.

Anyway, that is why I started paying cash for cars. In the early days I would budget a car payment into a savings account, then write a check for the next one.

Since then life has been good to me.

If I can invest the money at a higher rate I take the 0% financing every day.

Ford will have some 0% financings coming up. Having excellent credit helps with the qualification. One thing to be cognizant of is a total loss on a fairly new vehicle may leave you upside down having to write a big check, even if you have 0%. Surprise, Surprise, they even offer an insurance policy to cover that which can probably be included in the closing cost, hence financed at 0%.

The good old days. Lots of things that are easy to forget.

I bought a 23 Tremor with 402a package 10k miles, a few weeks ago at 6.49 %. My credit union is offering auto refinance for 4.99 so I jumped on that, saved on monthly payment and a fair amount of $$$$ in interest charges. In todays market, not a bad deal for a used vehicle.

i dont know
i got my 22 f150 looked at for trade, then started call around and going to other lots.

it has one covid delete, the auto start stop
it seems around here the market does not give a crap and such my truck and ones just like it are 49 to 52 trade, most are 49-50 within my 100 mile radius , i only found 2 listed at 52
it seems nobody understands i have massage seats, head rest speakers, glare free headlights
etc, one guy told me KR trucks are old man trucks... o_O
plus i am really trying to put my brain around a 24 4x4 f250 kr in rapid red...but 7 % at ford is a hard pill to adjust to when i have zero on the explorer and 2.9 on the 22 f150

I really meant that Ford is taking away options from the consumer and in return raising prices for it. I posted a video from TCcustoms about it above. You’ll be able to get that same exact 24 4x4 F250 KR during Ford Truck month in February for around 1.9% rate if you just wait a couple more months. All dealerships have to make room for the new 25 inventory and if you find a package that you like with the mindset of you having the upper hand then they’ll have no choice but to give you the truck for what you want to pay.

oh right you are
the fog light thing cracks me up ..still have a BIG hole in bumper, but little light
one should not have to buy a rigid light to fit in to see at night
her having LIGHTS that project the sides into the dark areas is a HUGE safety plus
