okay now THATS engineering!!! May work since it’s exactly where I’m having my issue
Let me know how you make out. In the spirit of full disclosure, the look of the small piece of the pen cap wedged under the trim did bug me a bit when first installed; however, it 100% eliminated the rattle/squeak/creaking, which, at least IMO, is a much bigger issue. I've had it in place now for several months with no issue, and I never even think about it at this point. I know this will sound a bit dramatic, but the noise was so irritating to my wife and me that we had discussions about trading the truck. Truthfully, the only reason we didn't was the lack of available new truck/vehicle stock, or I really feel we would have dumped this truck a long time ago. It's beyond frustrating to spend this kind of money and have to Macgyver a fix with the end of a pen cap. Overall, I give this truck, which is my 8th or 9th F150, an 8/10. I love the vehicle, and now that the noise is gone, I'm glad we persevered and solved the issue; however, I feel Ford does need to do better.

I have 33k miles on my ‘22 and it’s still quiet as a mouse inside. Even after I’ve disassembled and reassembled most of the interior for various projects. Mine was built at the Kansas City plant

I always get an annoying tapping noise when my front drivers side window is partially down. It sounds like it is coming from the dash, but it goes away when I put pressure on the window. The location of the noise is under the V shape black trim piece located on the front part of the front door. The noise always goes away when the window is fully closed.

After 40K miles it's silent everywhere else.
Is this what you're referring to?

That's the spot. Thanks for the video. That appears that it may fix my problem and I am going to give it a try.

Hi there. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealer name/location? I’ll see how I can assist on my end regarding this dash noise concern. To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation".

Haha yup…. The infamous 110mi round trip. Kill me

Do you have BlueCruise? I passed on it for several reasons, the biggest being I think it's wasted for anyone living in Idaho, except if one travels the I-84 a lot, like you do. Drivers in the fast lane of the 80 MPH zone are closer to 90-100, so I was curious since BC tops out at 80 MPH.

Yeah, bluecruise speed limit really sucks. At 81 mph it defaults back to the assist 2.0. It essentially has zero utility over the assist 2.0 package. The ankle weight truck still allows for hands free, but neither system can be fully trusted unless you've got perfect highways with perfect markings and even then you still have that one idiot who absolutely must arrive to their destination 1 car length faster that can cause faster than needed braking -- they need to work on the soft braking algo.

One thing about the systems is that by pressing on the accelerator one can over-ride the distance settings. It takes a little finesse but one can close gaps as needed to keep said idiots in their place. It's easier learned in an EV where accel / deccel rates are controlled by the throttle.

Good to know and yes, the ankle weight trick or "ghetto BlueCruise" works great with perfect markings, although it still tends to pull too close to center for me and I don't have the stomach to play chicken with an oncoming semi on the 55 N heading into McCall! It is what it is. Besides, I love driving my truck instead of outsourced software! ☠

Yup, i have it, and only use going thru areas with proper markings. 84 east of town sucks for it, an onlooker would think I’m drunk with the way it sways back and forth. Also, it defaults too close to the centerline when you’re in the left lane. Not fun when passing trucks with the gawdawful winds we get out here.

Yeah, the software needs a little refinement being able to watch the gyros and accelerometers. When the truck rocks the camera views the slight skew from a sway as a turn in the road and causes some feedback oscillation. Easily correctable given their resources. They've since moved on to 1.2 so there's nothing further in the pipe until they push it out. It corrects quite a few of the oddities the non 1.2 trucks have.

Ok, @Ford.... 7K into ownership CGM/BAP Powerboost, and already the dash is creaking... If I press on the trim around the interface screen it seems to go away, only to come right back. $80K trucks shouldn't have this issue.... ever. Anyone else have this problem? This combined with my running boards stuck down... and the horrendous seats (which I'm fixing) really take a bite out of the enjoyment.
I had a very annoying set of creaks coming from the chrome trim panels on the driver and passenger side of the console. Popped each off and covered every part that looked like it had the potential to rub with felt tape. Worked great.

I have a rattle in the dash that sounds like it is near the steering column. Almost sounds like a nut/bolt is just sliding around in there. Becomes evident when the inside of the truck is very warm (Summer). Any thoughts on this?

Would love to hear what you are doing for the seats. I also find it hard to believe how uncomfortable they are for how much the cost. The massaging only helps slightly.

Ive yet to troubleshoot the creaking sound im getting. Recently installed Raptor seats in the truck, which are far more comfortable than the paltinum seats, but they're a bit soft for me still, and moreover, they cause the power running board to stop working. Never thought something like that would run thru the passenger seats. Anyway, i have the raptor seats out now, and for sale. Took the platinum seats to a custom interior shop here in town and had them do some work, so far so good but needs some refinement still. will post results unce its complete.

Did you PMI the DSM? Not sure what harness the raptor seat had, but had you PMI'd the DSM it may have worked just fine.

Not only do the powered running boards get powered by the DSM, but the movable pedals and the powered movable steering column does as well. Also, the passenger seat heating / cooling is also powered by the driver's seat. The DSM under the seat controls quite a bit of things.

Oh yeah, way too close to center for my nerves. I don't have the stomach to play chicken with an oncoming semi on the 55 N coming out of the pass heading into McCall! o_O

I had it at the dealer, they even went so far as a full software reboot. SInce the raptor doesnt come with power running boards there may have been a difference with the plugs under the seat, everything else worked though.
