Can you describe how you actually dyed it though? Did you have to unstitch anything?

There's a few different versions of the wheel, mine only has a red stripe on the top center. To dye that you only need to mask off the surrounding area and apply it to the stripe. Everything else is already black. Just use a leather dye.

Not a good photo of it as it's not showing the red, but the rest is all black already.

I use both these companies products in the past. Have always had good luck with them. I think both have good youtube instructions on how to dye and spray. The liquid dye I use first, it changes the color of leather nice. The LVP spray I use as a topper. It blends out any blotches, makes it smooth color.
I used black electrical tape for a clean mask line, then regular masking tape and paper for the rest of the wheel. The wheel does not need to be taken apart.

Restoring this old thread in hopes of some guidance on installing the raptor steering wheel. I have a 402a it’s pre wired, my question is when people say just swap out your buttons onto raptor steering wheel, do i need to switch out the wiring from my wheel as well(the wires that go to the buttons) or just leave the wires that came on raptor wheel and put my button on the plug then in? Any help greatly appreciated

You just swap the trim piece around the airbag to the raptor wheel. The trim and buttons come out as one piece. The wiring stays with the wheel.

Yep, the raptor buttons will not work at all in a non raptor, so that is really the only thing you have to swap over.

@superfordman - If you get the raptor heated steering wheel, but don't have factory steering heat will the wiring still allow it? I know there is probably some forscan items to turn on but was wondering it works for non-factory supplied heating steering wheels.

What's "factory heat"? HSW can be added, several threads on it. You'll find all the info and parts in the respective threads.

then your airbag most likely isn't connected. Why is the real question if you know you plugged it in.

I ran into this on my 2016 when I changed the wheel. I found that 1 of the airbag connectors I did not fully seat all the way.. Once I made sure both were fully seated, the issue went away.

Just finished installing my new raptor steering wheel. I ended up getting the harness from Boosted GreyGoose Designs and swapped the trim. Everything works perfectly and this new wheel is badass!! Love it! Thanks @superfordman and others for the information provided!
