Hey all,
Since my 2021 3.5 ecoboost with 112,000 miles got totaled, I'm looking at a 2021 F-150 Lariat PowerBoost with 91k miles. According to the Carfax, it seems pretty well maintained with regular oil changes and transmission/transfer case fluid done early.
Part of what draws me to the PowerBoost is the Pro Power Onboard generator, along with the smooth idle compared to the regular EcoBoost and the improved fuel economy.
What’s giving me pause is reading about the “Stop Safely Now” message that some owners have experienced. My plan, if I move forward, is to have a thorough inspection done by a Ford dealership before purchase and to also purchase an extended service plan to help cover any major repairs down the line.
Also, have any of the TSBs, recalls, or software updates over the past few years made a noticeable difference in reliability or addressed major issues with the PowerBoost system? For those who have owned or currently own a PowerBoost, do you think a detailed inspection from a Ford dealer would help ease concerns about the “Stop Safely Now” problem, or is it the kind of issue that can appear without much warning?
Appreciate any honest feedback.
I have 2021 XLT 302A 2.7kw one outlet in the back. Not a lariat, but has 1609 pounds weight carrying. The lariat may be a lot less. I tow a 2020 34 foot coachman apex travel triler 293 RLDS. 7700 pound max and the PB tows it like nothing. If I buy another F150 PB it will be the 7.4kw with 120 outlet and 30 amp trailer outlet. The 10 speed trans is a beast and going around 60 mph tow/haul 7 and 8th gear crusing gets me about 11 MPG on regular. truthfully, I want an F250 powerboost if they e ver build one. Good luck with your searchHey all,

Dang it! I was hoping to see a pic of how the H8 fit.Had to double check, I do indeed have the H7
Sorry I misspoke. I did get a new interstate H7 from Costco and 12v. Sorry if I misled lol
Thought I remembered a thread where it was possible to fit the H8 just by unmounting the battery minder. It was stiff enough not to need support that obstructed the battery box. H8 took a bigger insulating blanket.Dang it! I was hoping to see a pic of how the H8 fit.
I still think it might be possible if I get creative with a terminal kit from Knuconceptz.
