I was washing my truck yesterday and noticed condensation in the tailight. (Not from the wash) No apparent cracks in the tailight. Is it safe to assume this is covered under warranty? I bought the ESP warranty too with the lighting add-on. I presume there is some sensor in there it is going to mess up.

I have. 2024 Lariat.

Mme has been that way for four years, I would t worry about the sensors. Cosmetically, if it bothers you then you can pursue a repair. I have no idea if ESP will cover it.

Not uncommon these days. It may have a small crack in it or the vent could just be clogged. If it bothers you a lot you could pull the lamp off and remove the BLISS sensor and let it sit in the sun to bake and dry out. Then reassemble it and all is good. If you do this then just be sure to not power it on or move it with the BLISS sensor disconnected to avoid any possible error codes.

One of my truck's taillights was this way as well.

Dealer said give it a couple of months to see if it clears up. It didn't, and they replaced it for me without issue.

That was before 36K, so the work was done under the factory warranty and not my ESP.

Bumper to bumper coverage...they will replace under warranty.

ESP - not covered. Specifically excluded in the contract.. somewhere in the back.

My bed lights get it all the time, had them replaced under warranty and even the new ones did it.

Best way to eliminate that is to remove the lights when dry and seal them with clear rtv, works very well...

When purchasing ESP you can choose the lighting option, if desired.

I did pay extra for the lighting option. Still denied. Ford ESP pointed to page 4 (the what is not covered section paragraph d ) and denied.

Oddly enough my right tail lamp seal failed at about 32 months and was replaced. 6 months later my left failed and I was denied. I think Ford had a bad batch of tail lamps in March 2021. At least both of mine were bad.

I was pretty disappointed since I was told at purchase that "the headlights and taillights are expensive and if I purchased the optional coverage then I would be covered if anything happened." Well apparently not!

Hmm, do you have the PDF of the document that screenshot is from.

It seems to exclude more than I remember.

Interestingly, my truck was built in March of '21.

Thanks for sending the contract PDF, Jim. Sorry for the slow reply.

Looking at an older brochure for ESP it also specifically excludes fogging of lamp assemblies. I'm surprised I don't remember reading this back in 2020.
