I guess it is time to get in line. I don't want to be too complicated, but I don't really want the cable before mid-September. So if I bubble up before then I'll hold til then.

The '23 Lightnings are now caught up to the '22's, so I want to give Ford a couple of weeks to see if they will release something new and get us caught up to the '24's or even Mach E. If not, I'll bite the bullet and do the available updates, I want Walk Away Lock.

The best way is to private message Rugedraw your VIN number and have him run it through the Ford service software he has access to and he can tell you what updates are available.

Another way is to have your own Mongoose cable and buy access to FDRS and look it up yourself. Thus the point of this thread. Cable loaning program.

Hello all,

I am not sure if this will take off or not, but I wanted to start a thread to help members who want to get their trucks updated without having to spend hundreds of dollars buying the Mongoose to do so. I am going to be lending out my Mongoose to anyone and everyone who wants to take these update issues into their own hands and get their truck righted.

The process will be as follows: You send me $500 via Zelle, Paypal or Cashapp where we don't have to be worried about fees. I will ship the Mongoose to you via USPS insured for $500 jic. You update your truck, and send it back to me also insured for $500. Once I receive it and verify the serial number is the same and it works, you will get $475 (more or less) refunded to you to cover the costs of shipping the item to you. I am not doing this for profit; I am doing this to allow everyone a chance to drive the truck they paid for.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I am not a technician. I am not a software engineer. I am not an FDRS expert. AT ALL. I am a car salesman. I can offer my help and guidance with the process to the best of my very limited ability. However, do not count on me to get you through the process if something goes wrong. Before you ask me to ship it to you, coordinate with someone that can help you if there is a complication and have this person on stand by just in case. Before you ask me to ship it to you, make sure you have a minimum 10amp AGM battery tender to leave on your truck the entire time. Make sure you have a 32GB + flash drive freshly formatted to exFAT. Make sure you have enough time to get all the updates done using the 2-day FDRS license you will need to do it. Read the first post of the thread linked below and if you feel you are up to it, post here and we'll set it up.

If you want to borrow it, post here as opposed to sending me a PM. First person to post gets it first, second to post gets it second, etc. If there is a lot of demand for the Mongoose, and any other members want to do the same with their Mongoose, let me know and we'll coordinate accordingly.
