Just got back from 100 mile round trip and still getting this at each start up.

Been going on for a few weeks. Showed up just after an OTA.

What do you think?

Few things to check before visiting dealer. Make sure all fuses are fully seated under hood and in front passenger footwell. Check your battery connections. Some with this issue had loose connections. Fully charge your battery connecting ground so the charge must pass through the BMS module located on the battery ground terminal. Once charged reset BMS.
If this does not resolve you may need a new battery either under hood or under rear seat.

100 miles of driving should be sufficient to markedly improve the charge of any battery even with a couple of stops and restarts.

Do you have a voltmeter? At rest 12.5v with engine running no more than 14.9v

Thanks for the feedback.

Its been a while (before this warning showed up) but I did check fuse seating in both places and all were good. I'll check again.

When I put it on the charger, I hook directly to the BMS's metal strip as a vid shows.

But even if not, it is my understanding that the truck is supposed to automatically recognize the new charge overnight.

I have not checked the batt connections and that is practically a "doh" thing. Thanks.

I have not reset the BMS, since I've charged it correctly and it is supposed to self correct but I guess its something to try.

I have in the past, checked the resting and alternator voltage, including since getting this warning. All normal there.

Oh and my batt is an H7, 800CC. Don't know it's manufacturing date but the truck was built in early May of 23 and delivered early the next month. So, not a lot of hanging around, as some found.

Checked the fuses in both locations, all good.

Checked batt connection tightness, all good.

Guess I'll reset the BMS but shouldn't have to.

Fixed?

Recharged the batt until the smart charger put it in float. Around 3 hrs. Same as ever but this time, charged it straight to the terminals, rather than the ground being on the BMS, as is recommended.

Then reset the BMS with the 5 light flash, 3 brake push method. Battery indicator blinks 3 times.

Started it up. No check charging system warning.

Took it for a short drive and once back home. Started it again. No warning.

Thanks @UGADawg96 for mentioning this several times, as a potential fix.

Fingers crossed.

That kind of thing caused me, 4 months after delivery, to just go get a new, off the shelf battery. I'm a NAPA kind of guy. I was on the road for family Thanksgiving travels. So I just pulled into a NAPA store along the way, bought one, dropped it in and kept on Truckin'. As it turns out, not a peep since. Wasn't even smart enough then to know I had to reset the BMS...

Yeah, Mine has been good since I did the reset a couple weeks ago or whenever I posted about it recently.
