It's pretty normal for the CarPlay feature to have random hiccups. Seems like a couple times a week it will have no sound (can see the music info, play timer running, etc.). Doing the reboot (hold down the power and forward seek buttons) often fixes it, sometimes I've had to reboot twice in a row, etc.

Maybe it's me, but if I hear a crackle noise on the speakers right at the moment of reboot, that seems to be a good sign that it will come back upon reboot. The repeated fails tend to be dead silent when rebooting.

Same issue with my truck. As of today no CarPlay connection. Did soft reset of Sync, toggle CarPlay on off/on in the phone settings. This in addition to getting a black screen for a minute or so after starting up the truck and driving. Happens several times per week.
Hello, I would like to see if I can assist you with your screen concerns. Could you please send us a message with your VIN and mileage?

I have found that pressing the wifi button on my phone which disconnects carplay and then selecting my phone again on the sync screen works well also.

Oh man, I got that black screen one day about 3 weeks ago, after I already had the truck started for over 30sec. I thought I hit a screen button by mistake, but nope, the welcome splash screen finally showed up after about a minute of driving, followed by the Apps/Settings options, etc. Strange behaviour for sure!

Re-booting the phone has worked every time mine has quit working.

This issue has progressively gotten worst. It started off dropping on one section interstate. Then another location, and another. Its typically around overpasses etc.

The local dealer came out to perform 3 recalls in the parking lot which was a nice surprise. I asked the tech about this issue and he mentioned there was a TSB for it....any ideas? Said it needs to go to the shop and they flash something. Would love to have a TSB number before they just tell me its something with my phone.

Going to try and reset SYNC as described above first, but this shit is getting old. And spreading like a virus.
