Carplay/Bluetooth Stopped Working All of a Sudden - Help Requested

Hello everyone,

Got my first truck and I love it. Got a couple of kinks that need to be worked out though.

I have a 2025 Powerboost with Sync 4 and wireless carplay was working fine until yesterday. Now, my truck can't connect to my phone and vice versa. Carplay works fine when I'm plugged in, but I can't get standard bluetooth or carplay to connect/work otherwise.

I have done the following:


1- reset my phone and sync
2- forgotten both the phone and truck in Bluetooth devices
3- factory reset the sync system
4- Updated my phone and turned on updates/scheduled updates in sync.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Check your battery. These things hate it when battery gets down a little. It sounds silly I know but it can cause all kinds of things.

Sometimes running a VPN on the phone also messes things up.

My sync 4 is glitchy in my 2022 Platinum powerboost. Probably 25% of the time CarPlay connects but there is no sound and I have to reboot the system to get it to work. Been to the dealer and they supposedly did some update but the issue persists. Could be a battery state of charge issue but I don’t really know. I will put it on the charger tonight.

My sync 4 is also glitchy on my 2021 XLT. I usually have to reboot my iPhone or turn wifi on and off. CarPlay eventually works again. It is super annoying.

I had same problem and called Ford Pass hotline and they had me do all that you did but also connect automatically to the built in wifi. They actaully are a big help. They also noticed an update specifically for CarPlay and sent the fix to the dealer and I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer to take it in. I didn't want to drop off the truck until they reviewed what Ford said to update.

I just sent my dealer a note and asked if they have a sync 4 patch to help with CarPlay connection. His response "the patch for sync is still not available to anyone"

Thanks for all the replies. Someone on reddit mentioned just as much regarding a patch coming out. I will see about the battery too.

LOL I understand why you say this but I have had Ford get involved with a dealer for my PB generator and it was resolved with Fords involvement.

So this issue is still ongoing, but randomly only once I did achieve a wireless connection for one ride. I spoke to a couple dealerships and they are saying 1-5 days with the truck for diagnostics .

It's a bluetooth issue maybe. So in an effort to avoid that dealership scenario, I am trying to reset the SYNC 4 fuse, but I can't identify it's fuse location based on the online manual for the F-150.

Not sure if APIM would be the same as SYNC but I don't see that either and I don't want to pull random fuses trying to guess.

Any insight would be appreciated on identifying the SYNC fuse on a 25 model.
