So do an apples to apples price comp with diesel and DEF since it's cost per mile must include its cost. Then of course, dual consumables comes with twice as many POFs

A different thread...
5.5 gallons of def to 107 gallons of fuel = (DEF $6.98/g inc. sales tax, $38.37) (Diesel $4.04, $432.28) (470.65 cost per 107 gallons used, avg $4.40 per gallon)
All $ are based on local current cost of said goods
Regular unleaded, $3.16/g. Delta 4.40/3.16 = 1.39.
My economy to run 80mph 87 octane, 19.7mph
Economy needed in a diesel to maintain cost parity at 80mph 19.7*1.39= 27.43mpg.
At 75mph I'm above 21mpg (truck has 2" level) which requires 29mpg for cost parity.
Of course there's time and money in dealing with DEF and the DPF itself, a whole other set of fun there. There are no free lunches here with the diesel in this truck class.
