So do an apples to apples price comp with diesel and DEF since it's cost per mile must include its cost. Then of course, dual consumables comes with twice as many POFs

5.5 gallons of def to 107 gallons of fuel = (DEF $6.98/g inc. sales tax, $38.37) (Diesel $4.04, $432.28) (470.65 cost per 107 gallons used, avg $4.40 per gallon)
All $ are based on local current cost of said goods
Regular unleaded, $3.16/g. Delta 4.40/3.16 = 1.39.
My economy to run 80mph 87 octane, 19.7mph
Economy needed in a diesel to maintain cost parity at 80mph 19.7*1.39= 27.43mpg.
At 75mph I'm above 21mpg (truck has 2" level) which requires 29mpg for cost parity.
Of course there's time and money in dealing with DEF and the DPF itself, a whole other set of fun there. There are no free lunches here with the diesel in this truck class.

Failed 7.2KW ProPower?

Not saying that there isn't posts on this forum regarding an issue with the 7.2KW version of ProPower. But man is it limited to no more than a handful.

Unless you include trying to power your home from the truck. That's not a flaw with the truck, in my opinion. That's a use-case scenario.

Given that the DCACA is water cooled, I don't expect to see problems with it. Twice in 2 different EV charging tests, each at least 90 minutes with nearly 7.6kW of constant output it didn't flinch. I used the thermal camera to check all connections and wire runs, everything was nominal. 30a EVSEs are rare, that's what's needed to maximize output. In-fact I know of only a single unit that supports 30a on the nose. Most are 25 or 32a, and the 32a will not work w/ PB unless charging a tesla which can select its charging rate in 1 amp increments.

So you use more expensive fuel, but are okay with basement bargain DEF? The comparison is valid, I used local prices with toptier gasoline vs diesel and walmart sourced "blue def". It just is what it is.

Given any number of tune avenues I'm about to take, I'll be switching to 93 octane e0 which I can purchase from the distributor at even less than their current $3.49/g public pricing due to sales guy buddy pricing.

I like the 3.l duramax a lot. It has a few issues too, but yes, fewer (IMO) , than F-150. Few will believe there is operating cost advantage though. Myself included. I have, however, twice found myself critically low on fuel with no diesel nearby. That and the 7.2 inverter pushed the f-150 to first place. For me. Stupid close though, and the gm tailgate? NICE!

DEF is tightly regulated. I don't believe there is reason to correlate cost to quality, certainly not like in fuel. Ymmv

Huh? Did you forget about from Ford sending scads of PB's to Texas a few years ago over the power outage problem? For that matter why would you feel using one to power a home a flawed use case?

He's talking about the fact it's GFI and trips when connected to a panel with a bonded neutral. It's a spicy topic that elicits some well-intentioned information. It's pretty easy to do though.

But. But.. do you know of any main panel that isn't bonded?

Dammit!

OK, would someone please direct me to a thread discussing this?

BTW, I hate GFCi's and consider them one step above ventless gas cans

GFI is fine, just not for feeding a properly bonded panel.

There's a few posts on it. The latest one has the easiest method of creating a 'dog bone' to do it towards the end of the thread.
