That is what's driving me nuts is how to turn it off! You said it "can be turned off as mentioned above", which made me go back and review the posts. I might be missing something, but the only reference that I saw on how to (allegedly) turn it off was from @Chads first F150:

But as I have already reported the "Trailer Routing" feature IS turned off, was turned off, has been turned off, and in fact, has never been turned on. I'm not trying to be disagreeable, but the evidence that is before me says that "trailer features" is not the on/off switch point for the "bong". I'm still looking for a solution to turn it off...
You turn it off by bringing up the navigation screen, touch the menu button, then go into trailer routing. That will be the screen shown in the post above.

Trailer routing would've been my guess too. My truck bongs like that every time an overpass approaches and I'm towing my travel trailer.

My free nav trial expired and I CAN'T disable trailer routing without subscribing and paying $20 to not use a feature.

So if there's another way to turn off that bong, I want to know too.

How do you turn it off if when your free Nav trial expired and you can't access they greyed out buttons?

FWIW, while it can be annoying at a 14 foot overpass, it saved our a$$ when we were towing our Airstream and navigating with Google Maps and it routed us towards a very low covered bridge. It gave us time to find a safe spot to turn around well in advance. Pick your poison, I suppose.
I don't doubt you for a minute. I can absolutely see where it can have value in some circumstances. I'm not "poo-pooing" this feature at all. But not all features are of value to all people all the time. All the more reason for being able to turn these so-called "features" on and off. As it was, the top of the trailer load was lower than the top of the truck cab. So, just because I had a trailer and went under a bridge, a warning bong chime goes off??? But if I stand up a full size refrigerator in the bed (which stands... what, maybe 3 feet or more higher than the roof of the cab of the truck), and go under a bridge, no bridge bong warning? Well then, what the hell good is....... Sorry, sorry, I'm going off on a rant. It's time to switch to decaf. Besides, I'm derailing my own post! Ugh!

I see value in many of the features available on these technology-packed trucks. Many are cool, some are incredible. But I don't want all these features all the time - in fact, some features I don't want at all. It's individual personal preference, and sometime dictated by a situation. I would really like to be able to turn this off (and turning Trailer Routing off isn't doing it on my truck).

On another, but related, note: By sheer chance, today I had to return to the same metro area mentioned in my original post, and following (mostly) the same route - but I was not pulling a trailer. This time I watched and counted - I went under 3 underpasses. On the original instance when I was pulling the trailer, that bong chime went off a lot more than 3 times! Hmmm....

For what it's worth, my trailer routing bong chime also seems goes off when I'm driving under signage like this:

Very interesting... Well, that would account for all the extra bongs... I also understand the logic in the technology mistaking an overhead sign like that for a bridge / overpass. And there were a number of those overhead signs on that aforementioned route. So, the pendulum is swinging back the other way and I am once again becoming a believer in the bridge/overpass/overhead bridge sign theory, and think all of you guys were right all along. (y)

But I still want to turn it off...

Oh agreed. It's very annoying. And if it's not trailer routing, I think I'm having the same issue as you.

Technically, I can't verify it's trailer routing since I can no longer access that screen.

I just know it's the same noise I heard before in the same places. And if I watch on the Nav screen it happens when I'm approaching height restrictions and the triangle warning icon appears.

I'm pretty sure my little trailer is nowhere near as tall as the semis passing under the same signs / bridges. Hoping someone else can find a way to disable it that is not trough the Ford Nav system.

Maybe rhe data for your trailer dimensions is corrupt.

Try changing the height of your trailer to some random value, back out of the trailer settings screen, and power off the truck. Then restart the truck and set the trailer height ro the correct value, back out of the trailer settings screen.

Let us know if that helps.

More than likely, the person who wrote the software for this was doing too many bong hits, thus the reason for the extra chimes/bongs.

If so, I wonder if it's not related to a mapped NAV thing, but triggered by the BlueCruise sensors?

After reading this thread, I was nosing around in the NAV settings. There is a selection for voice only, or chimes.

If you select voice only, maybe you wouldn't have to guess what it is about?

And a point I made somewhere, is that my truck wants to default to android auto, if you want the ford nav (and one would assume, the ford controls) you have to select it.

So a complaint about one, may not be applicable to the other.

In you trailer list screen, if you click on the trailer name the next screen to come up you should see an option for things to avoid. In that screen, it list height restrictions as an option along with a couple of others. You might want to try that also.

I don't have BlueCruise or the associated sensors. (XLT 302)

Trailer connected today to pick up jet skis, of the many overpasses I went under the only two that gave me the "bong bong" were the overpasses they are doing construction work on.
Other than that no warnings....

Again my "Jet Skis" trailer is programmed to be about 4ft tall...
