I’m not sure if anyone besides maybe @rugedraw remembering how I started parking my truck on the street because I was working on a Playset for my kids over a year ago. Then I got 8 updates in the 4 weeks it took for me to build a custom Playset solo.

Anyway I needed to clean out my garage so parked my truck on the street the past few days. BC 1.4 pops up and installs today. Kinda crazy my garage is an AT&T dead spot.
I remember you mentioning that. If the garage is a dead zone, it could prevent the OTA form downloading when it gets sent. However, it will not prevent the OTA trigger from being created. You can unhook the battery or unplug the TCU making the truck excommunicado from the mothership and the server will still TRY to send the OTA.

Got a BC OTA update a week after making the Forscan changes to enable 1.4. It's the IPMA-24.204.10.9 update

Kinda weird since my modules were already updated at dealership and I made the changes in Forscan.

Any thoughts on why?

Ford F-150 BLUECRUISE 1.4 IS HERE!!! Update Installing Now 1000007764

The mothership doesn't know you already had everything so it will send it anyway.

I have received two OTA's recently. Both say:

What's In This Update?
Feature Enhancement - Driver Assist Features
Ford BlueCruise* 1.4...blah, blah, blah.

The release notes for each are the same except at the very end. The first OTA said SYNC-25.2.1.6.5, and the second said IPMA-24.204.10.9.

I gather I'm getting the update in pieces. I received two pieces. How many more pieces should I expect to receive to actually have BlueCruise 1.4? If the first two said SYNC and IPMA, what will subsequent release notes say? Thank you in advance.

EDIT: Perplexity Pro gives this answer to this question:

You are receiving the BlueCruise 1.4 OTA update in stages, with each stage updating a different vehicle module. Based on your release notes:

SYNC-25.2.1.6.5 refers to an update to your SYNC system (the infotainment and communications module).

IPMA-24.204.10.9 refers to an update for the Image Processing Module A (IPMA), which handles camera-based features such as lane centering and adaptive cruise control.

For BlueCruise 1.4, you should expect multiple pieces—at minimum:

One update for SYNC (the UI and driver interface)

One update for IPMA (cameras and vision)

Additional updates for other modules involved in driver assist, which could include the ABS module, PCM (powertrain), or other ADAS-related modules.

Future release notes might reference modules such as:

ABS-XX.XXX.XX.X (Anti-lock braking system updates)

PCM-XX.XXX.XX.X (Powertrain module updates)

ADAS/BCM-XX.XXX.XX.X (Advanced driver assist/body control modules)

The naming convention usually follows the module being updated, with the software version listed after. SYNC and IPMA are two of the main systems required for BlueCruise, but final rollout may also require updates for other modules. Once these remaining modules are updated, BlueCruise 1.4 should be fully activated.

In summary:

You’re likely halfway through the process; expect at least one or two more module updates.

Subsequent release notes will mention the specific Ford module names (e.g., ABS, PCM, BCM) and their version numbers.

You’ll have BlueCruise 1.4 after all related modules have received their respective updates.

Not everyone will have the same experience. I have seen cases where with the IPMA update you got everything works, and other cases where a second IPMA OTA is needed. With the IPMA update you got, you have the official software for BC 1.4. If you tried lane change and it didn't work, then you still need one more IPMA update to enable the features, or you can enable them yourself with FORScan,

@rugedraw , hmmm, after the second OTA I haven't tried lane changing. I did look in my "driver assist" menu and did not see any changes. Nonetheless, I'll take a test drive and try a lane chance.

If I have what I must get from Ford and can do the rest with FORScan, can you direct me on - or to - directions on what I need to edit in my As-Builts? Thank you.

Yes, just message me. You can add the missing buttons, too.

Marking five months since this was announced. Still no OTA update on my 2023 Platinum.
Now six months. Still no BC 1.4.
Over eight months now since this was announced without the update. Ford's OTA system is incredibly frustrating. About to go on my ninth road trip without these enhanced features. OTA updates continue to come in, just not this one.

I hear you. It’s not even available for the 24’s as far as I know still. At least you have a chance right now.

I've tried to stay up to date on the latest news with BlueCruise updates since I got my truck a little over a year ago, but it's kind of hard to follow.

I've got a 2023 Lariat Powerboost, have they sent OTA's out to everybody with that model for the latest 1.4 update or is it still lottery? I'm still on 1.0 and just trying to figure out if mine is stuck, or if I'm still playing the waiting game? Dealer updated all my modules about 2 months ago they said and I've tried the drive, park, E-brake, turn off lights, set update for 15 minutes process about 10 times, and still nothing.

If the dealer updated all the modules, you need to wait for the OTA lottery to send you the update to enable the new features, or you can enable them yourself with FORScan.

Thanks for replying. I know that info is probably already on the forums, but it's hard to keep up for a casual viewer. I guess that's better news than hearing that I should already have the update, it's just stuck for some reason. The wait continues...

Ford F150 2022 king ranch powerboost
I just got it on my '22 king ranch this weekend.

Does not seem to change much. Lane change does work but that was never an issue for me. I usually bluecruise on long stretches with no need to change lanes.

I'd rather have a bluecruise and lane-centering that is more forgiving on how much it thinks I look at the road or how hard my hand is correcting when lane centering already does a perfect job. My hand IS on the wheel; I'm not applying pressure because it's just too good already.

Worries me that they waited this long to push the pre-collision for pedestrian 3-19mph. If they had the technology they really should have pushed that part to everyone ASAP.

I recently got v1.4 via OTA also. I'm rarely on a BlueCruise handsfree mapped road. Given this I haven't felt I've experienced "repositioning" feature yet. The handsfree lane change is a nice pony trick, but not a big deal for me.

Lane centering has been greatly improved. It now activates on many more roads than it did in the past. As long as the road is well marked with painted edges it'll work on fairly small two-lane roads. This improvement combined with the weighted steering wheel hack permits handsfree driving just about everywhere. If you're game (you assume all risks) give it a try.
