BLUECRUISE 1.4 IS HERE!!! Update Installing Now

It's very subtle, don't he F150. If you have the Diver Assistance screen up on the dash, it will tell you "preparing for lane change." I have also noticed, when not in that screen, the small little driver assistant screen in the bottom right will display a larger "bubble" around the truck when preparing for a lane change.

I'll see if I can notice that next time. It's hard to miss on a Mach E dash

Ok now that I have been living with 1.4 for a month I am not seeing any graphic indications on my F-150 dashboard like my wife's Mustang Mach E.

For example when she passes a truck she will get a graphic on her dash that shows the car moving over. When she does a lane change she'll get a graphic that the lane change is happening.

I do those things and nothing happens on the dashboard. I thought that was one of the updates that landed before 1.4. Changes to the display on the dash that go with the new features of BlueCruise?

The F150 does not have the same BC animations the Mach E does.....it is not as "pretty".

I figured that but I thought there would at least be something that indicated a move. The lane centering graphic doesn't indicate anything as far as I can tell.

What does this screen mean? Its telling me about the BlueCruise 1.4 but it hasn't installed it as far as I know. The last update i see in my Ford Pass app is the Optimized Air flow update. Does this just mean I am in line to get the update soon?

Edit: apparently I can't post photos yet for some reason, but when I click on updates in my truck it just says update details and what's new for that update on the BlueCruise 1.4, but it doesn't seem to be downloaded or installed yet. Is there something I need to do to get it to that point?

No, it doesn't say either. It has update details at the top of the screen and then goes to the what's new: Feature Enhancement - Driver Assist Features, ect. It just doesn't have the An update is scheduled to install text that most other photos from the thread have.

On my Mach-E, the tiny little instrument cluster is dominated by the driver's assist information. Even if you aren't in Bluecruise zone. So I'm not surprised that a bit more effort was made to do something with it in a bit greater detail.

On my Powerboost, the digital instrument panel has far more real estate and it has many choices regarding additional information subjects. The driver's assist information is just one of the choices and can even be substituted for with something else.

I'm OK with both. Both vehicles are amazing machines, in my opinion. It helps that I still drive other more basic vehicles enough that I don't become jaded with the Mach-E or Powerboost.

That means the OTA failed and that OTA trigger is no longer active. You have to be wait for it to be resent.

Update on the update failing and waiting for it to be resent. Truck updated this morning! Took a little over a month for it to be resent. Just be patient fellas. It will happen eventually!

I don’t want to burst your bubble but this looks like it has the wording “your vehicle may have received…” which means this is probably the Sync update that just went out instead of the actual BlueCruise 1.4 update.

I can't tell from just reading that. I don't have the release notes memorized. If the update name starts with SYNC, it just gives you the buttons for the new BC features. If the update name starts with IPMA, it gives you the new features themselves.

The only update I got that mentioned anything about blue Cruise was the actual Blue Cruise update.

There are two (actually 3) BC related OTA updates. The IPMA one that updates the software, the APIM one that gives you the sliders to turn lane change etc on and off, and the third is an IPMA wifi & config only update that enables the BC 1.4 features if the original IPMA update didn't enable the config like it is supposed to.

The third OTA I mentioned above basically does what we have been doing with FORScan for about 2 years now to enable the new BC features.

I never got any updates that mentioned Blue Cruise before I got the one that enabled it.
