Damn , now I am thinking I might keep the chrome lugs , look is growing on me lol
If I do I will most likely get the Ford Performance black ,since they won't stick out and match the oem exactly. But man I am researching LOTS of upgrades these last few months and need to cool off and save my $ , I just installed a raptor catalytic converter skid plate and ordered the raptor grill lights from f150leds , should be in next week. After all that I just need to enjoy the damn thing lol

The only problem w/ the chrome is you see them every time you look at the truck. Once they're blacked out you'll never notice them again until you're washing it. Sometimes it's about what you don't see ;)

I did my first tire rotation and slapped the FP black lug nuts on today. Summit delivered them two days after I ordered. Good service. Before/after:

Have you considered black lug nut covers?

I have used them in the past on other vehicles with good results. Amazon has a nice selection.

Def. not a good move around winters in most states nor high humidity places either.

If you are worried about rust, maybe winter wheels are an option. Not many places with higher humidity than here. I have had no issues with lug covers, on some GM's, lug covers were oem.

I installed Black McGard 64074 and 24216 Lock nuts. They are the best nuts you can buy imo. I have a set on my RV for about 4 years and they still look new. No rust at all. Though, even when new, there can be some surface rust on the inside threads. I usually fill the nuts with Evaporust for a few days and it removes all that surface rust. Then I use Boeshield on the threads. Just be sure to let the Boesheild dry before torquing since it acts like a lubricant when wet. Will never rust or seize. I use Boesheild on the undercarriage too. All my Vehicles go many years with no rust underneath. I live in Central PA with lots of Salt in the Winter.

There's a difference between "BEST" and "Closest to OEM" ...McGard may be good but they don't look exactly like OEM from what I've found (Also they are longer?) , plus they take a different lug wrench size

I've ordered the FP black lugs using FordPass points. I have a couple silly questions that I feel I should already know, but the only stupid question is the one not asked.

First, is it recommended to put anti seize on the lugs/studs? How does that change the torque specs? 105 lbs mentioned earlier in this thread.

Second, if I'm just swapping the lugs, is there any reason to jack up a wheel or just leave it on the ground?

Torque specs should be the same as OEM, I don't see how that will be lower than spec'd. I'd be utterly surprised if FP recommended such a thing unless they're made of Chinesiuem. Also, you don't need to jack up the truck as long you're doing one wheel at a time. Anti-seize only if you're worried, normally ZERO need for that.

Thanks for the quick reply. Now I just need Ford Parts to do something right and actually deliver my lugs (a month after ordering).

Maybe goes without saying: one wheel at a time, one bolt at a time.
