I have used the full locking lug nuts from Gorilla over the last 30 or 40 years. I have 13 tags showing inside my toolbox lid, but some have been pasted over.
1. I have zero problems with rust, as in none. I just keep it off of the sandy beaches in Dallas.
2. I have run several of these applications with mileage over 200,000. This includes a mix of inside/outside storage.
3. I do not use impacts nor do my tire stores. The keys look rather weak for 250 lb impacts. That is gorilla installers on Gorilla lug nut keys. I don't know why tire shops hire gorillas for installers, but that question is too deep for this conversation.
4. I ALWAYS order an additional key. Never had to use one, but....... I use a piece of masking tape to identify the keys. It can be difficult.
5. If I have an outside spare tire, like a jeep, I lock those as well with the same locks as the car.
6. I have never had my wheels stolen, not that anyone has attempted it. That is likely the same chance of my winning a $1 billion lottery at 72 years of age.
7. If I have a complaint it might center around the slender locking lug nuts that seem to be all that is available to replace my fat truck/suv lug nuts. They look good in Z06 application, but not so much on trucks.
Regardless, I am about to purchase two more sets for trucks. Both chrome since my wheels are chrome, but I have not considered a black lug nut. Might add some character. Who knows? Certainly not me at this point.
