I’ve also got the double coverage. I did the Ford factory spray in and added a Husky rubber liner. If I haul dirt I pull the rubber mat. For rocks I leave it in. Very happy to have the option. It really depends on how you use your truck.

I have had both spray and liner. I am now have put Bed Rugs in the last 3 F150's I have purchased. They are so awesome. Really helps keep things from sliding and getting scratched. Also easy on the knees. I would never use anything else. Also you can install it yourself in a few hours.

It’s great weather right now. Maybe roll back the cover and let it get some sunshine ?

That's a lot of protection! No bed cooties for your truck ;)
It is indeed, but this truck is mostly used as a grocery getter. I do haul a small enclosed trailer, so not dirty junk gets hauled in the bed.

Did you leave the drain holes open?
Nope, no water comes in , so therefore no water has to drain out. I have a Truxedo Sentry hard roll up tonneau cover which is surprisingly , very weatherproof ….so far . ?

I see a ton of trucks with beds that look like they were deliberately vandalized. It doesn't make me think "wow, that guy uses his truck for what it was meant for!"....it just makes me think " That guy REALLY needs a utility trailer!". There are beater farm/work trucks, and those have a place, but things have matured over the years. Most Euro/Jap/Detroit luxury car interiors would be a downgrade from my truck, and the gas mileage is nearly equivalent. Some may see that as a wimpification of trucks, but to me it means that one vehicle can now take the place of two. I can't really see myself hurling cinder blocks off of a roof into the bed of my truck, but it'll pull a hideous utility trailer just fine. With some protection, I have no issue throwing jagged metal oily parts and ropes and recovery gear and tools in the bed, and the bed still looks new under the bed rug.

The fact that half ton trucks have expanded their "wheelhouse" to include luxury daily driver/touring car is an EXPANSION not a diminution of capability, and I think it's a mistake to call that change impractical. If that means that I need a bedliner and bedrug instead of wooden planks with their own little herb garden, that's okay.

Many years ago my company was scrapping a small out of date letter press. It had to be at least 200 pounds. We called the scrap man and he backed his standard size pickup into the semi dock. As the driver and I stood at the edge of the dock looking down at the bed, I asked him how he proposed we get it down there. He said "Here, I'll get it" and then proceeded to take aim and push it over the edge on his own, letting it drop a good 3 and a half or 4 feet crashing into the bed! It was something I'll never forget. Now there's a guy some here can surely admire for using his truck as a truck! ;)

I got the spray in from the factory and the ford bed mat so it makes it easier for these old knees to crawl around the bed. Love it!!!

I did the Ford drop in liner. I love it. I bought the upper plugs seperately later, unfortunately they don’t come with so keep that in mind. At least mine didn’t. Grand total of 15 minutes to install this and the tailgate cover.

I've had plastic liners in both of my previous trucks. Overall...if you had to pick just one...I'd choose plastic. They're versatile and tough as nails.

Hey fellas,

just picked up with 23 lariat, and I'm on the fence about what to do for the box,all my previous trucks I've had a spray in liner done, but they have been used trucks and usually the box is quite beat up.

This one is brand new and im getting a roll up cover, and I'm not hard on my trucks at all, mostly hauling cardboard boxes, so I'm curious to see what you all think.

A box liner is around 550.00 and a mat is around 300.00

The key here is "I'm not hard on my trucks at all". So there is no need to fully cover everything with spray in or full liner. All that is needed is a nice rubber mat to keep stuff from sliding around, maybe with some dividers also. I put the Husky bed mat to hold stuff in place, and a tailgate rug to make it easy to slide stuff in and out. I built the quick release 2x4 divider also. I love the clean look of the factory painted walls, and am easily able to keep it looking like new for years with a little care when loading almost any cargo.

i've owned 3 trucks with full bed rug liners. they were great for "truck camping". However, since the Ford Factory spray-in lines came out, that's what i have. the stuff is practically bullet proof. i just use a Bed Rug matt on the bed floor, that way i have full access to, and can mount things to the sides of the bed.
