Always spray in.

I truly don't understand these people who never put at least some kind of liner in the bed.
I put the Ford bed mat in so stuff doesn't slide around. That's all I need it for.

Why do you not understand it? It is a truck bed, it is supposed to get knocked around, scratched, and used. Spray in bed liner is a wasteful investment. If you don't want to use the truck as a truck, and you'd rather have a pavement process that looks new in 20 years, then I guess a bed liner is for you.

For instance, I could never imagine a bedrug in my truck. Sounds like a nightmare.
To each his own. I can’t imagine a load of loose stone in the back of my $60k + truck. That’s what beater work trucks are for.
For $30 I can rent this right now lol.

What the hell are you talking about? Spray in bed liners are FAR from a wasteful investment. I have a spray in bed liner BECAUSE I use my truck as a truck.

Hey fellas,

just picked up with 23 lariat, and I'm on the fence about what to do for the box,all my previous trucks I've had a spray in liner done, but they have been used trucks and usually the box is quite beat up.

This one is brand new and im getting a roll up cover, and I'm not hard on my trucks at all, mostly hauling cardboard boxes, so I'm curious to see what you all think.

A box liner is around 550.00 and a mat is around 300.00

I have the spray in liner AND the thick rubber mat, as I carry a lot of heavy scuba gear including Steel HP100s cylinders. Once carried 33 Aluminum AL80s! I need all the (bottom) bed protection I can get. So far no issues

I have a spray in liner from Ford. I sealed all openings with good quality black siliccone.
Also added a full bedrug liner . Very happy with the result.

In 2016 bought a 16 Screw F150 with the 5.5' box. Bought a Ford rubber bed mat and had Weather Tech floor liners installed.

Now drive a 22 Screw F150 with the same Ford rubber bed mat along with the same Weather Tech floor liners in it.

Traded in many a trucks with sprayed in bed liners and match to fit Dura box liners and the Ford Rubber bed mat was a 1 time purchase that has been in (5) F150 since 2016.

I have had both spray and liner. I am now have put Bed Rugs in the last 3 F150's I have purchased. They are so awesome. Really helps keep things from sliding and getting scratched. Also easy on the knees. I would never use anything else. Also you can install it yourself in a few hours.

Both! I've gone with the same spray-in liner from a local shop here on the last 4 trucks. I got a DeeZee bed mat for $100 (thicker than the the Ford ones and there's enough F150/Ford badging to let me know I have one) from Napa. Every truck gets the treatment. I agree the bed will get abused but I'm not down with dropping all the money we do on our trucks to eff it up real bad.

Exactly. @Ronin1973 Having a "Pavement Princess" is much different than trying to protect your investment (truck) for longevity. If we went by that line of thinking, then why would we wash or wax our trucks to protect our paint? Why prevent rust? Why not just let the plastics and vinyl on the interior or exterior fade, dry and crack? Adding a bed liner, mat, or rug is just another measure of protection and help extend the longevity of your bed (depending on each owner's usage).

The week I bought my 2007.5 Silverado 2500 HD, I got Line-X. That was my daily personal and work truck for 15 years, and I beat the hell out of the truck bed. When I sold the truck in 2022, the Line-X was still perfectly intact (a bit faded [not quite jet black when first applied]). Do you think I would have gotten more or less money if the buyer/dealership would have opened the tailgate and seen 15 years of ding, dents, scratches, gouges in the paint and associated rust in the bed? No amount of washes or waxed would fix 15 years of abuse of an unprotected truck bed. I bet the dealership would've thought "geez, this guy really beat the shit out of his truck" and way less likely to negotiate price, instead of "wow, this guy did what he could to take care of this thing".

That's a lot of protection! No bed cooties for your truck ;)

Did you leave the drain holes open?

I did the spray in bedliner, and then added a full bed rug and love it. The rug provides slip resistance and padding and is easily removable. It’s approximately 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick and is mold, resistant, etc. I think it cost me about $110. I purchased from a local tire/wheel shop that also installed my trifold cover and the rug was ordered to fit my 2023 F150 Power Boost bed.

i got the spray in liner from the factory. will eventually get in a bed mat (non-carpet) because i hate for stuff to be sliding around. like having skis slide and bang around will destroy the edges and scrape the bed unnecessarily. will probably have some straps or what not to to help secure.
