Has anyone ever relocated the bed camera?

I am about to have a canopy camper installed and will lose the ability to use my rear view mirror.

I thought if I was able to relocate that camera (or tie into the wires with a new one), I could actually use it on the right side of the infotainment screen as a rear view camera of sorts.

Thought it may be easier than a Wolfbox.

That doesn’t work that way?

1. The only way to access the rear view camera is through the camera button which then utilizes full screen, not just the right hand side. I’d lose visibility to navigation.

2. When I DO use that, I get a “FULL VIEW NOT AVAILABLE” block in the middle of the screen.

3. I will lose visibility from THAT camera with my tire swing mounted.

There are suggestions on other threads on how t relocate the bed cam:

You could replace the thrird brake light up high with a standard non camera one. Then move the camera to where ever you want. Its not a coax camera it is standard wiring. Power, ground video pos/neg and lin bus. It will have no affect on the other cameras.

..sounds like @Jesse-Infotainment is the guy you want to talk to.

Also, I have seen mention of a camera kit for ARE canopies, which might also solve your problems

Wolfbox is pretty darn easy. I use it as rear view digital mirror, not a bed cam. I like the "mirror" mounted on my dash. I think a Wolfbox (or similar) would be easier than relocating and/or replacing the factory camera. Is the Wolfbox better? That's subjective, but I think so.

I think you misread. I know the BED camera is available in split screen. That’s why I want to relocate that one once I love access to it. I do not want to use the tailgate camera as THAT one requires full screen and is not fully available on the move.
Also, my tire swing will block that one.
