Anyone added back the removed CHMSL camera - AKA bed camera?

I just got mine installed yesterday as well and was kind of disappointed myself on the quality. To the point I went back to make sure there wasn't a clear protective film over the camera lens. There was not. Haha

Crazy how expensive the part is for the camera quality you get. As @rjinaz said, it will get the job done and come in handy when loaded down.

I just finished installing and it works perfectly! Quality does suck but it's still going to be nice to have to keep an eye on the bed.

$259 for the same crappy image quality but with no center line and a slightly wider view.
No replacement camera will be able to fix the low-resolution VGA signal used for this camera feed.

I installed the Morimoto X3b light and added the FoMoCo camera. I used Permatex and a zip tie to hold the camera in place. I used the instructions on the 1st page to use ForScan to change the settings and all worked great!

Thanks to everyone here, I got my OEM camera installed and working today. One thing I would point out is that if you have a fold-up bed cover, like the BackFlip MX, it blocks almost the entire view of the camera when folded up.

Does anyone know if the Ford branded cover also blocks the camera?

That would be the only reason I would want to add the camera to my truck is to be able to see into the bed with the cover folded all the way back since it blocks the view out of the back glass.

I recently purchased a 2024 Tremor 401a. I removed the brake light and pulled the grey plug out to inspect and I only see 3 cables. My truck came with 360 camera view but the build sheet does not state CHSML delete however. Does this mean I can’t connect this camera? How many cables are supposed to be connected to the grey plug?

There should be 8 pinned wires in the connector.
If you only have three, you're out of luck.

Does anyone know if a CHMSL can be added to a 24 King Ranch...? I haven't removed the light to inspect the connector yet and was hoping someone else has checked it out.

Glad to see there's a solution for this, for those affected by this crap. I feel like I lucked out and got a 22 that was built during the sweet spot - no deletions at all.

On my 2023 Lariat, I was able to use the FORSCAN programming with a NIB NL3Z-13A613-A that I got from eBay for $315; the install went fairly smoothly. I was able to use a borescope to verify I had the connector and then disconnect the clip for it, pull the connector through and swap it out easily enough.

The trailer light check on the phone is nice to actually see that the brake light was working correctly.

I did manage to mess up one of the four plastic clips that hold the screws in, it is just spinning so need to go back and fix that eventually. This could have been a bit exacerbated by me not wanting to take off my back rack to swap out the light.

Now I just have to decide if a heated steering wheel swap out is worth it to get my truck the way it was supposed to be before Ford deleted options. My wife is telling me no, because I ordered a Mach e with one last week. The new HVAC module to get the button definitely puts it at the pricy end of the spectrum.
