It is. I am an audiophile, though. For me, it is worth it. I don't drive a lot, but I have a Dolby Atmos surround system at home that I use a lot. I also have some aftermarket subs in my truck, so the lossless audio helps keep distortion out of the the B&O system and the subs at high volume, so worth it there, too. I always have the volume at 30 in my truck. lol
thats awesome! i'm sure your home system kicks some ass

yeah my biggest complaint about my Lariat is the rattle from the drivers side door if bass is too much!
now i have noticed once i go lossless, its no where near as bad. i do like the B&O though. truthfully my fender audio my VW had was pretty sweet haha

Yes, that is one of the reasons I went with aftermarket subs. I keep the bass down on factory speakers using the touchscreen to prevent rattle. I have a separate bass control knob so I can increase or decrease the bass on the subs in accordance to the song/genre I'm listening to. I'm just barely happy enough to how the unleashed system performs so as to not upgrade the factory system. lol

It would have been great if Ford had put a way to adjust the factory sub independently of the bass that goes out to the other 17 speakers, but I digress.

I did the same. I upgraded to some PowerBass drop in door speakers that didn’t require a lot of power and running them with the factory amp. Replaced the center channel speaker. Added an AudioControl LC-1 800 to power my sub that I just got from @SoundsGoodStereo

I haven’t finished the install but prior I had two 8” under my back seat and wanted the room back.

Nice suggestion, thank you!

I'll admit, coming from my 2020 Ram's Alpine system, I was unimpressed with the Unleashed in my F150. However, I'm nearing 3,000 miles and the stereo is starting to surprise me. No, it doesn't have the punchy and tight bass that the Ram had, but the acoustics and soundscape are quite amazing with the right song choice. I'm not sure how the system decides where to send sounds, but at times, it seems like the song was engineered for the Unleashed system.

Tool's 46 & 2 is one song in which I noticed the verse coming loudly from the overheads and cuts off as the song goes to the chorus.

The Beatles' A Day in the Life scared the crap out of me this morning. I listened almost to the end last night via CarPlay. This morning, I plugged in my phone, buckled up, and started backing out of the garage...just as the weird, vocal gibberish starts (around 5:10). I thought there was someone (or something) in my backseat. Needless to say, I only needed one cup of coffee this morning. ?

I'll take bass over space any day of the year. lol

I went with two Massive Audio UFO slim fit 12" subs powered by my old but trusty Massive Audio N3 1400W monoblock amp. I've had it for years and it's still running hard. I always get an amp that can over power the speakers so I can keep the gain low and have it running cool while driving the speakers to the level I want. If you can keep an amp cool, they will last forever. My amp can push 1400W RMS and my speakers can only take 300W RMS each. I have the gain at maybe 35%-40% and it rocks my speakers while not breaking a sweat.

Odesza - The Last Goodbye feat. Bettye LaVette

If you have a way to stream lossless audio, that's the way to go.
I'm sorry but Tidal isn't lossless. They deliver music using a lossy compression technique called MQA. MQA is a flaming turd of false advertising.

That said it's possible that some enjoy the sound of MQA as it uses something similar to a Minimum Phase Apodizing reconstruction filter that can sound pleasing to individuals.

Interesting. What lossless streaming service do you think is best?

If I had the option in Canada to do Qobuz, that's what I would go with.

But to be honest in a noisy environment like a truck Apple or Amazon lossless is more than sufficient.

A person probably won't tell the the difference between MQA and true lossless in a truck either, so I wouldn't jump ship if you are happy with Tidal's artist content. I just don't like MQA and what they are trying to do to digital music delivery.

I guess that was obvious by my response. :)

With Apple and Amazon basically telling MQA to take a hike, their goal of being the only hi bit rate delivery medium requiring a special licensed DAC to fully decode isn't going to happen.

Does anybody know what system the 2006 lariat had? I know it had a ford sub under the passenger rear seat. That system was loud, and had some great kick to it (maybe I like it best because I was 16 and on top of the world lol). I don't mind the B&O, but IMO it doesn't beat the 2006 f150 or the Bose in GM's.
13 was sony , pretty sure my 2010 was sony as well with tweeters in the A pillar

Did you listen to the one where the narrator was describing the system?
His voice is perfectly optimized for the system and makes you realize just how much ANY system could sound much better than it does on average.
