Had the rear axles replaced yesterday on my '22 F-150. The "Rube Goldberg" Android Auto disconnection is still a problem. The phone still has service, but frequently disconnects from the truck. Ford says they're working on an update to fix that <wink wink> I'll be out of warranty before they have it. Also Ford is still refusing to replace a defective battery (2nd replacement) under warranty. Why should the owner have to purchase a battery when the vehicle is still under warranty. Ford Pass says truck has not been updated since May of 2023. Dealership says it is a Ford Pass issue, that it is up to date. Guess I am going to have to explore getting the software and cable to update it myself. I am so disappointed with Ford and this truck that I'll probably never buy another vehicle from them.

Try a different phone if your truck is up to date. Software version on the truck is a component, however, at the same time each phone model is also its own component (as well as the phone itself).

The truck regularly reports to Ford Pass that Remote Features have been disabled to conserve battery power when it sits for a day or two, so I don't think the phone is the issue. Why can't Ford make a pure old truck with switches on the dash and throw out all the menus etc? Would that be too difficult? I use the phone to listen to Sirius XM since Ford couldn't incorporate it or the NAV package when the truck was built.

Need to replace your batt if sync is sleeping in just 24hrs. You could try fully charging it and reset the BMS first. 3yrs is about all you can get out of the factory AGM.

OP, sorry but potential more not-good news for you…

As of a few days ago, even with a Mongoose cable and FDRS subscription and doing updates yourself, you likely can’t update your Sync 4 version (APIM) if it is at or below version 23187. Ford dealer can’t either. Ford put out SSM 53966 regarding Sync 4 vehicles. If your sync 4 version is newer than 23187 already, then disregard (but I doubt it is if you haven’t had any updates since May ‘23, as 23187 would have come out on the 187th day of 2023). A new Sync (APIM) update, if you could get one, could help with your phone and AA issues, but won’t help with your battery issues.

See this post below for more preliminary details, although this is so new that I don’t think anyone knows the whole story yet. Hopefully this is resolved by Ford soon.

My factory AGM is 4 years old. No problems. I’ll replace it before winter. I have an XLT. Might make a difference.

Nobody is making vehicles with simple..... Fill in the blank.

Not defending Ford.
But they all now have potential technology related glitches. Software now defines the ownership experience more than anything else.

3 batteries in 3.5 years for my 2021. Granted the first one was because it sat at my dealership for 2 months waiting on parts to fix my brake booster and dealing with Ford. But all three were covered under warranty without any issues. Next Battery is on me and I'm not getting a Motorcrap one...

.... as 23187 would have come out on the 187th day of 2023 ....
Live and learn ..... I didn't realize that SYNC version number is a date code.

Based on that, the underlying program code for version 24127 (my current version, received by OTA on January 22, 2025 as Revision 1270) was released on May 6, 2024!

Gotta love the tidbits learned here .... :)(y)

The battery was replaced once by Ford 18 months ago. And yes it shuts down after 24 hours in the garage. I'll be damned if I hook it to a maintainer/charger every time I pull it in the garage. That is just ridiculous to expect an owner to do.

My battery went bad after sitting for 2 months at the dealer last winter. They were happy to charge me for a new one, but I decided to get a Walmart one with 4yr warranty. Fast forward a few months, and the dealer called me to tell me the battery failed the test at the start of the TSB for improving phone connection issues. I had them pull the battery and took it to Walmart. The hand held tester claimed it was fine. I then had them put it on their bigger tester and it showed it was bad and I got a free replacement for a battery that was only about 5 months old. We’ll see how long the next one lasts.
