In both the EV and truck I just go to N before the vehicle reaches a complete stop. No slapping needed, no additional buttons to push no function disable

I don't use it, in fact it makes no sense to me. With auto hold turned off in stop and go traffic, I can take my foot off the brake and the truck will ease forward at a walking pace ... perfect. I can easily nudge into parking spaces and so forth. What are y’all’s thoughts on the “Auto Hold” feature? Menu setting from “Features” “Driver Assistance” “Auto Hold”. The feature that lets you take your foot off the brake while sitting at a red-light. You like it or not?
I use it everyday! I'm handicaped and have adaptive driving equipment installed. So, it helps me when I stop and I don't have to hold the brake with the hand lever. I don’t find it completely useless but I much prefer activation with the brake pedal like on the Mercedes. The way Ford implemented it in the F-150 makes it useless for me.
It needs to have an easy to reach physical button like most cars (or through the brake pedal like Mercedes) to make that feature flexible enough to be useful.
Unfortunately, Ford cut corners and buried it in menus instead.
Only use it in heavy traffic during rush hour. What are y’all’s thoughts on the “Auto Hold” feature? Menu setting from “Features” “Driver Assistance” “Auto Hold”. The feature that lets you take your foot off the brake while sitting at a red-light. You like it or not?
Yes. I wouldn’t worry about wear but it would definitely affect your efficiency. The electric motor will be spinning the torque converter against the parking brake the whole time you’re sitting, draining the battery. On auto hold, the electric motor would turn off, not wasting energy in the torque converterDoes the torque converter continue to spin when idling in drive with parking brake on? Any concern for additional wear and tear on the drivetrain vs the auto hold system? Genuinely curious and not entirely sure how the torque converter handles the handoff between ice and EV in these situations.
My only complaint on the AUTO HOLD on our '21 Powerboost F150 XLT is we don't have the AUTO HOLD on our Chrysler Pacifica van that the wife drives most of the time. It's great have'n it on our truck but I find myself have'n to stop n think to remember to keep my foot on the brake when I drive the van & stop @ a lite or stop sign or else I'll creep right through the intersection. Maybe that's why I don't drive the van very often. What are y’all’s thoughts on the “Auto Hold” feature? Menu setting from “Features” “Driver Assistance” “Auto Hold”.
