I ordered this option but I haven't really seen it in action. I found this video today and I'm not sure I want it. It looks like when it's flat, it's still not flat? If I wanted to put a rectangle bin in the back, would it sit flat between the rear and front seat over the storage? I thought it was storage in the floor but it just looks like a popup organizer that is lockable.

I saw this in person on a vehicle on the lot. I like it a lot and have ordered my 2022 Lariat with it. I love how you can lock the seat from lifting up just in case you do need to secure a valuable item too large for the glove box or console.

Look by the release button.

I miss the snow. All we get around here is year round biting mosquitos.
LOL just went out and looked, thanks I learned something new today :)

Does anyone know if the rubber floor mats (Ford option) makes the floor a bit more flush with this?

I got it for gun transportation, as in Canada, restricted guns are required to be locked and non visible to prying eyes. to date however, I've not used for that, but my battery jumper cables, first aid kit, snow brush :D, industrial paper towels, towing harnesses, and box links, all reside in there. Since the folded unit doesn't interfere with passengers' feet the 1" extra height doesn't bother me. The rubber winter mats. are customized to shorter carpeted floor anyway.
I was thinking about it for gun transport as well

In Florida, we aren't supposed to lock up our guns, we have to brandish them while driving. See, when you move to Florida and apply for a drivers license, not only do they register you to vote, they give you a bag of oranges and a gun permit right on the spot too. :cautious:

I saw where they (not Ford) have a pull out safe that you can install under the front seat so it acts like a drawer.

I got the rear locking storage because the wife wanted it. We haven’t used it yet.

The "partitioned lockable fold-flat storage" is listed as standard equipment on the 2022 King Ranch F-150 in the Ford F-150 proprietary spec sheet released on 09/15/21. This could also be true for the Platinum and the Limited.

I love mine. I figured if I get it and don’t want it or need it flat I can still fold it away, but when I want it I have it available. And to this day I keep it up and I use it all the time. It comes in handy for sure.

I went with an after market under seat box from Amazon… was like $125. What I like about it is you can you use the full-size husky rear liners which gives you way more coverage on the rear carpet.

If you ever need to remove it, there are two hang tightenable bolt/washers that you can remove it quickly. You then have that flat surface if needed.

I ordered it with my platinum. It's very handy to keep straps, tie downs, shovels, shopping bags and other stuff in the cab and not in a box in the bed. I didn't need the full flat floor so for me it was a no brainer. Just my two cents.
