i had a 2013 f150 KR 4x4 3.55 pictures below 19.1 mpg at texas speeds
i had a 2016 KR 4x4 long wheelbase expedition 3.73 gears 19.1 at texas speeds.

but my 2022 150 KR 4x4 3.31 gears so far is only managing 18-18.5 at same speeds. its lighter, better generation of eco boost and 10 spd

what am i missing ? other than both previous had eco boost and 6 speed.

1196.. i figure by 2k it should be in its own. i have a long 3 hr drive sat then 3 hr back will see how it does at 77 for all but about a mile of the run.
mpg really jumps all around, one day its 20 then the next its 17 over same route
but its still fun to drive,
my wifes 2012 edge 3.5 v6 has remained 21.6 over its 77k miles, and moves up to 23 or more at long highway runs of 75 or more.
my traded 21 250 psd got 23 at highway speeds and it had just barely 3k on it when it made the climb .

last fillup it read 672 DTE
its sitting at 1/2 tank and dte is 322 36 gallon tank i should be able to make the run and back or be realllllly close , then a tank of 92 and see what transpires if anything

On my 2021 EB it took 6-7k miles before things settled. My 22 PB was fine out the gate. Sometimes on the EB I would get only 18 mpg I have to restart it to get it t back up to 22-34 mpg. Got rid of the EB. No answers on the why.

I only used Costco and shell gas so I think I ruled out the quality of gas. However it feels like the computer gets triggered to fire up the gasoline a certain way after an event. May need the spark plugs changed to start eliminating that easy step.

I use the same gas on the PB and never had that issue once. If I didn’t trade the 21 in for the 22, the spark plugs is where I would have started.

okie dokie
at 1200 noon we left to got to rockwall, 72 ish miles with all but 3 or 4 at 70 mph or higher
most of drive out was 75 to 76, then a few miles at 60 (dumb 17 wheelers hogging the fast lane)
MPG held steady at 18.7 outside air temp 101 at house, 109 on highway a/c on recirc ,7 fan speed and 62F seat coolers on full throttle

coming back Air temp jumped to 109 at olive garden to 111 on highway
stopped at bucc ees to fill with and reset mpg and trip 2

once i got back up to 76 it started the slow climb to 19 and held 19 2 to 18 .9 all the way home
we did have to stop for 5 or 6 minutes because the rain had appeared and was so heavy you could not see past hood, never mind the tree parts flying past

but once back up on highway it was ac fan 7, recirc and 62 and seat cooler at 2

SOOOOOO all the aero stuff on the 22, didnt seem to change the mpg compared to the 2103 f150 with 3.55 gears and 4x4 driven the same way, same highway speeds.
or the 16 exp with 3.73 gears 4x4
both trips we had wild head winds and crosswinds the ant was i estimate at 45-60 degree angle bent backwards
empty bed, two people and a small cooler with cold stuff
19.1 will be happy but i cant drive 65 ..
1395 miles on odo
tires up front 41 and rears 40
they were 36 all around.
DTE at fillup read at 592 and when i got home its now 563 dte and we drove more than 29 miles from when i filled the tank, so i know its recalculating . it was closer to 49 miles from where we filled up
now i have to see why the air flow out of the vents is SUCKY as pickled rear.

Just curious, what tire pressures are you running? Next curiosity, can you run it on ethanol free and check mpg? Last hmmmmmmm for now, have you reset the transmission learning tables for S&Gs?

I am in the same boat, but travelling 45 and I30 fairly regularly puts me in the 80+ speed typically. I am only about 2k in, but averaging about 18.5

Bone stock 22 Lariat 4x4 EB 157" I was getting 22-23 mpg just about since new in similar conditions: strong headwinds through Nebraska, doing 70-75. Consistent from about 400 mi on the clock out to home with 2000 mi.

This is on the meter, I did not hand calc.

Also, running 91.

41 up front and 40 in rear HOT . cold psi is 38 front and 36 rear. hot temps are from dash reading tpms. cold is with a very reliable dial gauge
it had 36 set from new all around but they felt squishy in the heat.
i have not run ethanol free, most everything around me is 10%
not sure about trans learning curve. i have not done one,

it did yesterday stay in 10th a whole lot more than it did a few weeks ago on toll 49
we had horrible wind yesterday , which i know hurts mpg.
i was really looking for at least what i got on the earlier eco boost vehicles we owned
91 or 89 oct does not seem to make a difference as far as i can tell
what is burning a hole in me is the 2021 f250 i traded for the 22 150 got 20-23 at same speeds with a powerstroke and 331 gears 4x4 . 1k ft lbs of tq really made a difference.

it is what it is
the 22 kr is much nicer and rides better, seats are more comfortable and most importantly , my wife likes it and will drive it, safety things are awesome, plus she can get in it easier . we all know happy wife is mucho better than her hating your truck.

what was really IMPRESSIVE was the engine and trans temps

it was 109 to 111F OAT and she ran 192 water and 196 on trans. with ac blowing wide open.
i sat in buccees for 4 to 5 minutes running in the sun waiting on wife with goodies. water temp only climbed to 198, fans were a screaming but i was cool

FWIW, I just put my 20" pirelli tires at 40psi cold to try to eek out a MPG or two. Was running 34 psi and I can say the diff in ride quality is negligible.

I think the forscan free version will reset the transmission adaptation. I reset it on my 3.5L after getting it from the dealer so it would learn my driving style, especially on local trips. Sometimes, just for fun, I'll reset it and drive around like Mario Andretti, let it learn and then see how it behaves during my normal driving. As always, YMMV, don't try this at home and this is posted for my amusement only, I'm not a professional. :D :D :D

yes within a few tenths. round number is 18 mpg over the previous tank this was some city and most 2 lanes at 60 to 65 mph.

will do the math at next fillup since i broke 1200 miles.

I picked up my truck with under 100 miles and immediately drove 1800 miles over a few days, 1/4 of that was 45-50 mph and the rest was 75-85 mph. I didn't verify by hand.
