I used pliers to hold the retainer clip steady and a long thin flat head screw driver to put pressure on the clip and just lightly pulled on the wires and it came out no problem. Getting the replacement clipped back in was the hard part but again just used the long flat head.

In addition to having the 360 camera option , as far as I know you only need the CHMSL w/camera to replace the CHMSL that came with the truck w/o the camera. The part number for the CHMSL w/camera is NL3Z-13A613-A MSRP is currently $611.39 and can be bought new online in the $430's.

I have a used CHMSL w/camera from a 2021 F150. If you locate a used CHMSL w/camera you want to confirm it also has the wiring harness with the 12-pin gray plug to connect with the harness in the roof of truck behind the CHMSL.

I think with the correct module configuration changes using FORScan is all that is needed to enable the camera. That is where I am at this point, looking for the additional coding changes to get the camera to work.
Haven’t looked at mine yet but it is also a 2023 that had the delete,I’m hoping the plug is there. Just curious if this part number is for the light with camera only or does it comes with the wire harness to plug into the camera and 12 pin plug behind the light?

Just a heads-up: I popped the retainer pin out, pulled the 12-pin plug thru & it only has 3 wires connected. Put it all back together. Any hints as to what next? {So, for me, plug's there but w/only 3 wires & the assy w/the camera (part # NL3Z-13A613-A) combines those 3 pins + 5 others in the mating (male) 12-pin connector.}

Which vehicle do you have? Which trim level? I'm curious.

2023 F150 KR w/equip grp 601A: Sticker states for removals: Adv security pack, auto stop/start, multi contour seat, steering wheel heat. The high cab stop does NOT have the camera installed (I thot was a default install item for that trim), nor does it have the front (Ford emblem) camera install. That's why I'm asking abt those (want to add - to me, they should have already been there).

The delete is a part of the 360 camera package. Being that you don't have that, it is not super surprising that you don't have the wires populated.

Exactly what I was thinking. Mine has the 360 camera package, so I do have the front camera and the harness.

Hadn't gotten to opening up the from part yet. So you're saying the front camera harness isn't there either? If so, any part #s that might fill in the blanks? If it's 'only wire', I can certainly string wiring sets around to make up what's missing. Just wondering how much of an effort that'd be. To me, the far more problematic part would be if there's actual software that's not there. Meaning if 'only' config stuff, e.g., like Forescan turning on flags, that's no problem, assuming all that's known in these forums. OTOH, using something like NavTV (or the other one or ??) is perhaps a better approach. I just want / need the front & upper cab cameras (+ a way to hook up the back behind the trailer camera).

I don't know where the cable for the front camera is connected but I can tell you from my experience, that's it's a fiber optic cable. I had to disconnect it when I swapped out my front Ford emblem for a lighted one. I had to pull the camera out of the original emblem, so I could install it in the lighted one. The cable is a fiber optic one and I do not know where the other end connects to.

Fiber optic (FO)?!? From my bkgrnd, that's to eliminate noise problems. Makes me wonder if there's an Ethernet connection type of thing going on as well. Or just FO using some other comm protocol. That'd be quite a step up from 'older days'.

or to simply eliminate any sort of video delay and have a good resolution. The image IS pretty clear.

Got the CHMSL camera working

Thanks to @Jesse-Infotainment for providing the secret sauce missing line of IPMA code !!

My truck is a 2023 Lariat 502A w/ 360-degree camera, FX4 & Max Tow. The camera was "removed" during the build in late Feb 2023.

FORScan Changes

APIM
7D0-01-01 xxxx xxxx xD--
7D0-01-03 xxxx xxxx xF--
7D0-01-04 xxxx Fxxx xx-

IPMA
706-02-02 xxxF xxxx xx-- this number corrected - previously shown as 706-02-01
706-03-01 40xx 04xx xx--

Another thing to do after I did after physically installing the CHMSL camera and making all the above FORScan changes except for the missing 706-03-01. I am not sure if it is necessary but I ran BCM (BdyCM) is running the IPMA Local Interconnect Network Network (LIN) New Module Calibration. The wiring schematics to the CHMSL camera show one of the wires labelled as circuit "VMF-33 camera-LIN". (corrected 7/8/2023 - changed running the Local Interconnect Network (LIN) New Module Calibration to under IPMA from BdyCM per recommendation of Jesse-Infotainment)

The LIN new module calibration procedure is to be run for installing a new 1) rearview camera 2) rain sensor module 3) intrusion sensor module 4) battery monitoring system module

The BdyCM IPMA LIN New Module Calibration can be found in the module list after clicking on the wrench symbol on the left side of the FORScan screen.
Got my new CHMSL yesterday, installed it, followed this guidance and it works perfectly. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread.

I preformed this to my 2023 Platinum and it worked great. Just one question. My bed view has a guidance line down the center of my bed like i have a 5th wheel hitch. Is this normal?

The center line is normal.
I just installed a CHMSL camera using the above instructions... worked perfectly.

Does anybody know if a CHMSL camera/light from a previous year (2021 for example) work work on a 2023?
