Maybe the parts will flood now that the refresh has been pushed out to 2027 and they need time to catch up on developing the parts?

@TrueBlue_09 So that guy is going from from a 6-piston to an 8-piston set up. I'm just trying to get to what he started from. lol he also needed different brackets, so it looks like I am on the right track so far.

@Dakar09 I agree with all your points. For $150 for the rear set including pads, if they only last me 2-3 years, I'll take it. When I do tow my boat, it's 4 miles to the marina and 4 miles back 1-2 times a month, and once a year, I will tow it a hundred miles or so down to the keys or to the west coast of Florida, so I don't think I will be pushing them that hard. At least PowerStop doesn't drill 100 holes in the brakes, so I think I will give them a try and if I have to replace them, at least the rear are cheap. I came across Dynamic Friction in my search......good to know they are decent for future reference.

@JohnMcClane I'll update the thread pics and any hang-ups I come across when I start the install. I'm super excited!

Edit: I came across those EBC brakes, but the finish is what turned me off about them.

First, it wouldn't be fun if you took it apart, then reassembled it and everything worked. Your language skills would begin to fade away. We can't have that.

Second, keep us posted. I would like to upgrade my brakes and Baer has options to get that done. I don't want a drilled rotor. Slotted yes. Those drilled ones are prone to cracking around the holes. Makes no sense to me, but it can happen over time. Always the front. I can testify that the air circulation slots solved my problem. Those trucks were underbraked from the factory' courtesy of GM.

Both sets were slotted on one of those big machines like I do not have in my garage, would not know how to operate, don't remember what to call it, and couldn't afford it anyway. That was before performance brakes were available to the general public. Brakes are much better these days, thank goodness.

My mechanic has since died. It was brain cancer. It occurs more frequently to those that use solvents/grease without gloves.

He turned down a full ride to MIT to go racing. He admitted it was the dumbest decision of his life. Second was his first wife.

He was around the corner from a Christian Brothers automotive repair shop. They subbed out to him what they could not diagnose and fix. He upcharged for that work. It was in the late 80's and early 90's. Like Patton, he read the books/manuals/tech papers and actually understood the engineering.

Brakes brought out some sad memories.
What a post

You thought you were coming here for basic technical information on upgrading some brakes, think again, this is f150gen14 at it’s finest.

In the video they mentioned he was getting an warning or something just an fyi and that was one of the reason for the upgrade. Also they show the parts you will need that they are taking off and the torque on the bolts incase that helps. Good Luck!

Starting the project today. I have limited time at the shop at work, so we'll see how far we can get.

Very odd the brackets didn't come with the calipers. Inspect the pistons carefully, if a wheel/rotor did end up broken, it could have tweaked the rotor in the calipers and caused damage to the pistons and/or bores.

I found out more about the truck they came off of. Turns out, it was NOT involved in an accident. They came off of truck with only 80 miles on it that was purchased to be exported and the guy was modifying the truck at a shop before sending it to South America. Long story short: The shop made some modifications that tripped an ABS code. They were in contact with Shelby NA and Ford who determined the calipers themselves were faulty and sent the shop a brand new set of calipers. Once the shop installed them, the issue remained. Turns out, the calipers were NOT the problem but since they had already been mounted, they could not be returned, so the shop kept them and put them up for sale which is how I came across them.

Basically, these calipers are brand spankin' new.

......and just like that, the entire project is postponed. The control arms I ordered do not have the holes to mount the ride height sensors. Need to return them for the correct ones.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
The usual trials and tribulations. But, you will be glad you did it.

At least you have some good history on the calipers. Makes sense why the brackets remained on the truck.
