Hey all, truck I'm picking up does not have skid plates. I usually order fx4s but this one checked most of my boxes with exception of skid plates. My hunting property can get nasty in some of the parts and I've been in situations where my skid plates saved my undercarriage. Anyway, is a truck with no skid plates able to have them just simply bolted on if I bought some OEM's?

Just got my '24 KR Powerboost FX4 a week ago, after a VERY, VERY, VERY long wait. When I looked at that cover under the oil pan I was surprised to see this. My '15 & '19 Platinums also had the FX4 package, but had that worthless felt/fiber cover that gets torn off.

No idea what the part number is, but this is on '24s, not sure if it is all trim levels or packages. Haven't crawled under to see if it galvanized metal, aluminum, or plain steel. Would be nice if it were painted black. I may take it off and paint it, appears to be held on with 4 bolts.

That is the standard FX4 tiny plate. The fiber board connects to back of that but appears to be missing in your case. This was common last few years some models have others do not. The raptor metal skid plate will bolt right up on 21-23 trucks, with some modifications for Powerboost.

I have about 46k miles on my 2021. The fiber board finally failed. I went to the dealer for something else and was able to get the fiber board replaced under warranty. Initially, the gentleman behind the service desk stated he did not believe it was covered under warranty and in fact he's never been able to get one covered under warranty. I mentioned I know of a few people that have had it covered and asked if he would not mind check with others. He made a few calls and discovered the fiber board is covered under the powertrain warranty. All that said for those of you not willing to pony up the money, this may be a viable option until you are.

All the very best and keep trucking!

can you do this for a PB
Yes, I installed the engine cover as well as the rear on my 2024 Powerboost. Have right about $200 in it all.

I wouldn’t really call them “skid plates” but they are very sturdy “splash pans”. The rear piece adds a bit of converter theft protection as well.
